Late night sad feelings about Almorra Soulkeeper.

A sometimes (and rightfully) bitter hardass who had to be prodded into the Pact, yet became its most hopeful champion. Who threw her lot and her sword behind you even when *you* weren't sure you believed in yourself anymore. Who never failed to rally to the cause.

Who deserved to see the war of the dragons to its end.

I’m really still not over the emotional impact of War Eternal, I know it’s been a year, I just still think about it. Look at this promo poster they made to parody the Avengers movie that came out at the same time, but is gorgeous in its own right

And the trailer? This is better than any trailer beforehand, even Bug In The System’s, and better than any cutscene in the game, I still can’t believe how much of a punch is in this and all the physical details crammed full of personality. I mean I have never seen a game’s trailer just sit back and let you watch characters wordlessly showing you who they are. 

With no cuts. 

A continuous shot of something completely and utterly serious. 

This is still… a pinnacle, to me. Even if you don’t know the game at all, you could watch this and get it.

I managed to do a few personal pieces between the chaos of my life this past year. In particular in this instance, I needed something gentle and full of love.  So here’s Llwyr and Denzel.

I really love the idea of sylvari glow reacting to their emotions as well as them just glowing at night. Like you sneak up on a sylvari and they just light up like a torch in shock, or their glow gradually getting brighter when they blush!

Yes!!! The blush thing is something I include in my writing a lot because I’ve always thought it’s their sap-blood that gives them their glow, so it’d make sense that blushing = glowing and it’s so cute ;w;

And ahdkdjf all I can imagine is someone sneaking up on a sylvari and being momentarily blinded because the sylvari’s glow bursts so bright in shock, I love that.

More real plant stuff for my sylvari. I really love using stuff from real nature to use in creating my Sylvari characters.

Fachtna suffers from a fantasy version of Willow anthracnose which is a tree disease that weeping willows are very susceptible too (which is what Fachtna’s hair is made off) and the blight on his skin is inspired by Dothistroma Needle Blight which is a very bad fungal infection that can completely destroy entire pine forests. 

Although in real life it’s very easy for these tree diseases to spread, I think that once Fachtna was out of the pod it was no longer spreadable, but because of his appearance he’s shunned by a lot of other sylvari because they are scared it is contagious.
