The only character I play is my fursona Eon. They look like this!
Eon is a lesbian who uses she/they pronouns and they're a mesmer who got trapped in the Fractals of the Mists and now all of their scars are like space rifts. They have space-themed magic abilities that are a mix of mesmer and thief skills.
I wanted to rip her apart. Consume her completely. Her body in my lab, her desperate voice in my ear. My rough hands on her pliant flesh. Her tights slipped on my cuisses back and forth, spreading her sweat over my armor of steel. So desperate to get friction and look for release. I could feel my hunger—my thirst. Like a dog fighting for the last bone. Spit collecting in my mouth and eyes going rabid. I wanted my hands to bruise her skin, to leave marks all over her. Sink my teeth into her shoulder and collect her blood with my tongue after. Her hands gripping my shoulder, trying to hold on. Burying her head in my neck. The power I had over her made my head feel dizzy.

A big thing about me and RPGs is that I do not need or even want the game to constantly reassure me that my player character is the specialest and most important person who ever lived. Yes, they are the hero and most of the time the main character, and the power fantasy that comes with being level 100 in a video game and eating monsters for breakfast is fun. But for me that power fantasy needs to be balanced with the verisimilitude of a world that doesn't feel like it revolves around one character 100% of the time. I want NPCs that are rude to my OC. I want NPCs who don't like them. I want NPCs who don't know who the fuck they are and don't care. I want to feel like they can lose sometimes, not because they found the One Other Character who is as badass as they are but just because they are a person and sometimes people lose. I want them to sometimes participate in stories that are about other people. Because for me, if they are too special and too perfect and too powerful, it's not just the character that stops feeling believable and engaging; the entire world stops feeling real and inhabited, and starts to feel like just a flattened tableau to pose in front of. And that's not what I want out of a game. I want a world to play in that feels vaster and fuller than one character could ever know. And it's infinitely possible to make a world feel like that if you just make parts of the world indifferent to and even casually hostile to the player character without being villains. They aren't your archnemesis. They just don't know you. Ma'am, this is Fantasy Wendy's. It is good worldbuilding for a world to not fawn over your player character all the time and this is a hill I will die on.

do you ever think about how with The Cycle Ends they had to make a music theme that would do justice to the end of a story spanning 10 entire years. and they nailed it. incredible stuff.

Hi! thank you so much! Eon's gone through a lot of development over the last UH almost 8 years and it's really satisfying to see them now and that people like them a lot :)
I haven't done as much developing as I want to, but I can give a little about them. I know Eon started with a fascination for Caithe, after being sent to investigate Twilight Arbor and spending that whole time with her alone, the two of them had an immediate respect for one another, and Eon specifically became interested in her secretive nature. They liked her because she was a beautiful little puzzle with a lot of secrets they could potentially pry out of her. Her aura of sadness also intrigued them, as they both had a rough past and both had made decisions they're not proud of. They could even bond over killing a sibling (information Eon learns as normal during lws2 from Caithe's memories, something they did Not want to do, and sometime after Aurene's hatching in Tarir they tell her that they killed Maverick in the Fractals. Caithe finds the attempt at equal exchange kind of funny and endearing).
It's not until Caithe shows up in lws4 that they actually become something resembling a couple. Most of Dragon's Watch has known that Eon was pining that whole time (they were especially insufferable after Caithe runs off with the egg in s2). Since Eon's scars are so visible and they don't make an effort to hide them, Caithe sees the one that Balthazar made when he killed them and she forces Eon talk to her about it.
Caithe also makes Eon to care about the people around them. Eon is very narrowly focused on the mission with little regard to the regular people around, but Caithe makes them pay attention. They get praise for it when they do what she asks and takes care of civilians. Just know that they're dragging their feet and annoyed the whole time.
Caithe's also the only person allowed full access to Eon's notebook/journal. They have all their map drawings in there, as well as journal entries from their time in the Fractals, and any new maps they draw/scout. A lot of people in Dragon's Watch have seen specific pages that Eon has shown to point out places to go after they've done their recon, but no one else has seen the whole journal. Eon's secret hobby is drawing maps of whatever area they're in, disappearing for days doing their own scouting and recon, marking important locations and interesting things they find. They prefer going alone, but they bring Caithe when she's around.
OK! UHM! I hope that's enough information! I keep wanting to develop more bc I know this relationship is not perfect lmao Eon is a mess and Caithe is a mess and I know Eon would be distant a lot and Caithe is also distant so the communication is fucked and they're also separate way too much but Eon's also relieved when they see her bc she's the only one that Gets It.

I’m almost never available for the VS Art Parties and was thinking maybe I could throw this post out there; like or rb this as a ‘you have permission to use my nerds as inspo for drawing time’ if you want? i get new little guys to look at, you potentially get some art of your little guys. we all get to look at some neat characters. yehaw
