"I would kill for you. I would die for you" would you take a break for me? Would you sit down and rest? For a day, a week, a year? Would you let others take care of your needs for me? Would you let yourself be held for me? By me?

So the James Webb telescope took a picture of a infant star!!
The small glowing blob is protostar L1527! Caught in the glow of its sunrise-like creation the baby is only 100,00 years old! It can take up to 50 million years for a star to reach the size of our sun. This infant has a long time to go.
Located 460 light years away this is one hell of a childhood photo!
Can we as the Percy Jackson fandom continue high jacking posts???? Please???? Make it a thing again????
Unfriendly reminder that all you idiots being like "yeah just pirate media now, fuck corporations!" posting links and just openly telling people where to download pirated media are why it's so hard to find safe, working sites for it anymore.
I've been doing this shit for over 20 years and the availability has gone down as it's become more mainstream. The more you publicly talk about all these sites the less there are. Shut up. Tell people in private or don't tell them at all.
Donât want to be a contrarian on someoneâs vent post but imo yes they will.
For real tho. My best friends are people I met in law school, when I was 23-25.
I survived in high school so I could thrive now.
That is quite honestly the dumbest (poem? lyric?) thing I have ever read. The fuck.
I really feel tremendous grief for friendships that kind of petered away in the face of life's currents. There are people with whom I formed deep, unique, vibrant, life-changing connections, and then we had to go our separate ways and it was too hard to maintain long-distance. There wasn't a fight, it just sort of faded. And I feel like I have more friendships like this than friendships that have endured, so maybe I just have to get used to it. But if grief is all the love we have left over - well, I never did get to finish loving them. I love them, and I miss them, and I probably always will.
nothing like rereading a book you loved when you were younger only to realize the author can't write
I was a pretty weird outcasted child so one of the greatest wonders of my adult life has been realizing that you can just go someplace and meet some people and casually make some friends, and they might not be in your life forever but you can hang out for a while, and then you can go somewhere else and do it again, and again, if it doesnât work out no biggie, etc.
People getting upset about Ken being just Ken in this movie clearly never experience Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse. That show is basically a precursor to the new movie in the way that it shows the dynamic of Barbie and Ken pretty well. Barbie is the main character, Barbie is everything. And Kens stumbling over his own feet trying to be there for her however he can. Not obsessively, not creepily, just golden retriever himbo energy. Ken was never, by any means marketed to young boys, or intended to represent men. He was there to be by Barbies side in all her wacky adventures.
the thing I love about the barbie movie hype is that itâs revealing how people played with barbies when they were a kid. I only had Barbies so typically I chose the lesbian affairs and murder plotting route, but if I was at a friendâs house and they had a Ken, Iâd often go bisexual marital troubles. hey sound off how you played with your barbies Iâm curious now
I want everybody whoâs calling Ken a Trophy Husband to know that heâs actually a Trophy Boyfriend, because when Ruth Handler invented Ken in the 1960s, she was adamant that he would never marry her and instead be her âhandsome steadyâ, so that Barbie remained a figure of independence for the little girls and was never put in the position of housewife.
Her house is hers. She bought it and furnished it with money she made in her own job. In STEM, in politics, in healthcare, in fashion, in academy, in customer service. Her credit card is in her name (women in the US couldnât have their own regardless of marital status until 1974). And itâs all pink and fashionable because femininity and badassness arenât mutually exclusive. No matter who you are, you can be anything.
Thatâs why Barbieâs slogan is âyou can be anythingâ. Teaching these ideals to little girls is why Barbie was created. Empowering women and empowering femininity is the original meaning of the Barbie doll. Itâs not that you have to be all this to be a woman, but if you are all or some of this, you too are awesome.
And somehow pop culture deliberately changed that narrative. Sexualised, bimbofied, and villainised her, when she actually isnât responsible for the impossible beauty standards â people are, sheâs just a stylised, not-to-scale toy like most others.
Men are frothing because heâs just Ken and I guess they were expecting her to be just Barbie, but thatâs exactly what Ken is. Canonically. A badass womanâs himbo boyfriend.
This movie has the potential to change the way we collectively see Barbie radically into what Ruth Handlerâs intended, Iâm so very excited
so much (for) stardust is literally the album of a generation. it perfectly encapsulates the widespread mindset among millennials & gen z post-Covid.
âthe shellâs empty, thereâs no point to any of this, itâs all just a, A random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapesâ
âIâd never go, I just want to be invitedâ
âweâre told we gotta get ahead, yeah, no matter what it takes / but thereâs no way off the hamster wheel on this rat raceâ
but the album isnât just nihilism, either. itâs perfectly summed up once more in The Pink Seashell, âso I take pleasure in the detail.â
âthe viewâs so pretty from the deck of a sinking ship.â
âfeeling so good right now, til we crash and burn somehowâ
âthey donât know how much theyâll miss, at least until youâre gone like thisâ
in this album fall out boy is saying âhey, it sucks. we know this, we hear you, we feel the same, but there are still things to enjoy, still love to make. the only purpose in your life is what you give it, and thatâs okay.â
no but you don't understand. this album feels like coming home, finally. it is a promise about how even though things may go bad, there is still so much beauty out there. what would you trade the pain for? i'm not sure. it's about how the band both as a group and as individuals changed so much but stayed the same enough to make this wonderful record that sounds like vintage fall out boy, but is brand new. remember us just like this forever / remember me as i was not as i am. ten years in a chemical haze. what is there between us, if not a little annihilation? but i didn't take the love when i had the chance / sometimes we take chances sometimes we take pills. you were the sunshine of my lifetime. scar-crossed lovers forever. smash all the guitars 'til we see all the stars. a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes.
So Much (For) Stardust is true catharsis because you can sing along to your negative thoughts and feelings while simultaneously having a blast of a time with the music.
Baby the hurt won't go away that easily but what about fighting it with some dancing? head bang your horrors out of your chest, c'mon! Take that microphone or instrument or the dance floor, who cares, and become FOB for a day, shooting ray beams against stuff trying to bring you down.
For all the less popular writers. For the writers who don't get much attention. For the writers who have a very small following, or no following. For the writers who don't get a lot of notes or comments.
You are valid. You are brilliant. You are creating something unique and magical and all yours. No one would create it better. You are creating! You're writing! That is a magic all its own, and all yours.
You are valued, and valuable, and good enough as you are.
itâs kind of weird how weâre culturally not supposed to admit that we do things for money and/or attention. Like Iâm not going to work because iâm a team player or because I care about the company mission, Iâm going so I can pay rent and buy food. Iâm not publishing my fanfic because Iâm passionate about writing or because I only care about art in its purest form, Iâm publishing it because I want attention. If I didnât want attention, Iâd leave it on my hard drive. Really, why are we supposed to pretend to have âbetterâ motivations?
like to be clear I am passionate about writing and I want to be a good writer, but when I truly just want to âwrite for myselfâ I leave it on my computer and never share it. I have plenty of things that fall into that category on my hard drive, that nobody else will ever read, but if I go through the effort to upload it somewhere? I am seeking attention and I would like it in the form of kudos, comments, and reblogs thank you
