Thinking about things like toothpaste, baby shampoo, formula, and deodorant being locked up at stores "because they're stolen so often" makes me crazy.
The call is coming from inside the house!!! THE INCOME INEQUALITY IS SO BAD PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD BASIC HYGIENE ITEMS!!!! BUT DON'T WORRY we'll lock them up so the CEOs can still get their bag. 🤪

After everything that happened yesterday I really needed this yoga potluck. The preciousness of eating together and cooking for one another is a treasure and makes my heart fuller when I wish it wasn't so big so maybe everything would hurt less.
It's becoming increasingly hard to keep my mouth shut at work, and now its hit even closer to home.
Here's hoping I don't get fired this week.
It really sucks to be pretty worthless from January until spring. Funny how I thought getting a new job would fix my mental illness. Now I just have to go into the office and put on the mask of not being depressed instead, and tbh it's pretty exhausting.
I feel like I have the ability to befriend people easily but consequently it means I'm not a great friend to anybody as a result. 😭
Sometimes I look back on my time donating plasma (I was going twice a week for many weeks because they incentivise it with bonus bucks) and have a think about all the people I saw pass out/have reactions while donating and get asked when the last ate and it was over 18 hours ago.
And damn does that just say a lot about the country I live in.
Fucking capitalism. I am SO beat from the holidays I need an extra week off to recover and work is gonna be hecking busy. 🫠

With the holidays here, thought this is worth sharing
This website is still here and some of the asks are heartbreaking. Like “Jamie wants a new pair of jeans because he’s never had new clothes before”. Or “Kayla wants a bag with her name on it for when she moves foster homes again.”
A lot of these kids ask for brand name clothing and it sounds pretentious but having one nice new fashionable piece of clothing means a lot when all your previous clothes have come out of black trash bags from charities.
Btw, you can filter wishes based on gender, age, price, etc to help you find the perfect wish for you. This charity is LGBTQ-affirming (unlike a lot of religion-based charities that are unfortunately homophobic), so you can even look for nonbinary kids to donate to.
Also, I would really encourage people to be open to granting wishes made by older foster kids (14+) or young adults who aged out of the system and still lack family support. They’re so often forgotten.
If you don’t have a lot of money but still want to help give a kid a nice Christmas, there are lots of wishes that are $24 for stocking stuffers as well, or $15 for a sqishmallow!

I just want to add that right now, there are so many pending wishes for food. Kids are asking for food from the universe (and yeah, “kids” includes young adults just entering the work force–eighteen and hungry is just as morally wrong as eight and hungry).
Damn. Kudos to everybody who helped me knock the food wishes (plus one non-food wish) down to zero yesterday!
But of course, there’s a lot of new wishes today. Many Tumblrites are feeling the pinch, so no guilt if you have to sit out fundraising — I’ve retired from marches due to arthritis — but if you’ve got the means, see if you can knock a few of them off the list.
