Updating this blog in years. 🤷🏽♀️
Hey! You Look Like You Could Use Some Baby Chinchillas!
Why are kids so expensive?
Two pairs of new sandals and two pairs of new rain boots set me back $100. What the hell?
This song absolutely kills Zach. Hard, rip-roaring belly laughs over here.
Gardein is making meat-free so easy.
But why is it so expensive?!
Just a reminder to myself and anyone else who needs it. ❤️
I participated in my first protest yesterday and it felt amazing to be a part of such an outpouring of love and support. As a mother and a teacher in Broward County (and someone who lives fifteen minutes away from Marjory Stoneman Douglas), this rocked me to my core. Listening to Alex Schacter’s father speak about his son with his voice breaking and his tears falling, I was overcome with such a sense of loss for these parents and families. I cannot fathom the lifelong grief that they have to carry. I cannot fathom the innocence taken from those students who will never be the same. There will never be any words eloquent enough to describe how sorry I am that this had to happen for people to finally come together and declare, “Enough”. Yesterday I marched. November, I vote.

Last night was a date night for the books. Adult beverages, tabletop karaoke and a ton of laughs with friends. It was totally worth this vicious hangover.
Since I’ve been gone...
It’s been QUITE awhile since I posted. Life got way too hectic and then WAY too real so I was dealing with a lot. In that time:
• Zachary was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and high-functioning autism. He is now in a preschool that meets his needs and is doing phenomenally. He also goes to physical therapy and has to take methotrexate every week until he goes into medical remission, which I’m hoping is a possibility for him.
• My husband and I separated and then reconciled a few months later. Marriage is hard work and I think we both were taking each other for granted for a long time. We are working on things and in the process of buying a home, so I’m grateful that things are turning around.
• I began and completed my Montessori certification in the midst of all of the drama. Bad timing, but I did it. Huzzah.
• Rebecca started Kindergarten. Wtf is time. I had her yesterday, guys. 😫
• I had to get rid of my dog, Tucker. He was becoming aggressive with the kids and despite putting up with all of his other quirky behavior, I couldn’t overlook that one. It was heartbreaking to give him up.
Like I said, life got SUPER real. 2017 was the absolute worst but overall, this year has been shaping up to be a better one. I’m trying to limit drama and any unnecessary nonsense from my life as well as controlling how I react to things. I’m not perfect at it (old dog, meet new trick) but I’m trying. Hopefully knocking the dust off of this blog and using it as an outlet helps.
Testing, testing
Is this thing still on?
