How the Rosewood Kids Would Act at an Art Museum
Lottie: Literally ogles at every piece of art and aspires to be half as good as any of the artists. Of course her friends tell her that her artwork is great and that she shouldn’t compare herself to anyone and Lottie gets flustered after Ellie tells her how good her portrait of her is.
Ellie: Bored Out of Her Mind™ Like the art’s nice to look at but feels like it gets redundant after a while. DOES NOT UNDERSTAND ABSTRACT ART, like how can you hang a shovel from a ceiling and call it art cuz when Ellie did that her parents yelled at her. Wouldn’t mind going again just to see Lottie’s face when she looks at a portrait she really loves.
Jamie: Like to tell everyone his interpretations of each piece, but is scary accurate at what the artist is trying to say and it’s always scary deep. Like Ellie, DOES NOT UNDERSTAND ABSTRACT ART! Literally anyone can throw some metal into a pile, so why can’t any yahoo be an artist. Has nice conversations with Lottie about art. One of the things they can talk about together without having to worry about anything
Anastasia and Saskia: Wonder around and talk about pieces together, even though they can be really critical sometimes. Overall it’s a relaxing date night for them which they desperately need.
Raphael: The museums are alright. Sometimes they’re interesting and sometimes they’re not, depends on the mood. Is SCARY accurate at abstract art, like he can just look at the piece and can say what it means without looking at the plaque. Jamie isn’t sure if he loves or hates Raphael for this.
Binah: Can give everyone bizarre facts about each painting and artist, which honestly make the experience more exciting for Ellie. Knows so much that she actually accidentally gave a tour cuz people would follow her around and listen to her knowledge of each piece. Ellie and Raphael found it amusing, the museum did not. Likes to hear Lottie’s insight on each painting and firmly believes that Lottie’s paintings would be in the museum one day.
Lola: Appreciates the museum more than most. Really likes sculptures for some reason. Mostly hangs around Binah to give her brother and Percy some space. Has accidentally helped Binah on her unauthorized tour.
Percy and Micky: Quietly stroll through the museum, looking at each piece thoroughly before moving onto the next one. Holding hands the whole time unless they are signing about the piece.
Ollie(cuz why not): Like Binah, has always firmly believes that Lottie’s work will one day be in a museum. And by always I mean ALWAYS. One time they had a class trip to an art museum when they were kids and Ollie practically begged one of the workers there to put some of Lottie’s work in the museum, but they said no. But Ollie came prepared with a plan B. He took a stapler from his bag and stapled Lottie’s artwork to the walls. Needless to say the teachers weren’t very happy and Ollie was banned from going to another art museum on a school trip, but Lottie cried when she saw her artwork on the walls of a museum for the first time in her life.
