“if i wasn’t good enough, i was gonna make myself good enough.”
love you still
@importantcatpics
“The Eldest”
They crowned me young with silent gold,
A title carved, a role foretold.
“Be good,” they said, “be wise, be strong—
You must not fail, you lead the throng.”
I learned to shine, to play the part,
To swallow storms, to steel my heart.
Each smile I wore, a careful thread,
Woven tight with words unsaid.
They called it love, this heavy praise—
A thousand eyes that watched my ways.
But never once did someone see
The trembling child inside of me.
I chased perfection like a flame,
Till “me” and “perfect” felt the same.
And in the mirror, clear and wide,
I found no soul, just mask and pride.
No hands to hold, no place to fall,
No voice that whispered, “You’ve done it all.”
Just silence where a friend should be—
Alone atop my family tree.
But still, I dream of days to come,
When I can walk, not always run.
When I can fail and still be whole,
When love won’t hinge upon control.
So here I stand, still bearing grace,
But slowly softening my pace.
Not just “the eldest,” not a throne—
But just a girl, becoming known.
haha. You did irreparable damage btw
me to myself these days
when gifts were passed for all to see,
the largest one was marked for me.
i was his favorite — that was clear,
his steady love always felt near.
my grandpa stood so firm, so tall,
a quiet strength admired by all.
he never wavered, never swayed,
a rock on which our roots were laid.
i thought he’d see a hundred years,
beyond all pain, untouched by fears.
but seventy-eight came all too soon —
he slipped away one quiet afternoon.
the sorrow lingers, won’t let go —
it shades each day with undertow.
i miss you, Lolo, more than words —
in every breath, in dreams unheard.
The Eldest’s Weight
I came first, the chosen one,
The rising moon, the morning sun.
The one they count on, calm and wise,
With silent storms behind my eyes.
A blessing born of duty’s call,
To catch them all before they fall.
To lead with strength, to stand up tall —
And never show the cracks at all.
I’m praised for how I light the way,
But rarely asked if I’m okay.
They see the gold, not what it cost,
The dreams I buried, the sleep I lost.
I wear the crown with steady grace,
But miss the warmth of a softer place.
I’m loved for all that I achieve,
But not for when I need to grieve.
My blessing is this fire I hold,
Unmatched, unbroken, bright and bold.
My curse? To glow and never rest —
The heavy heart within my chest.
being the eldest is both my blessing and curse
I Am the Blueprint. I Am the Legacy.
Being the eldest daughter, granddaughter, and niece means I was born into expectation. Long before I could speak, there were dreams placed quietly on my shoulders. I didn’t just grow — I performed. I led. I excelled. And somewhere between learning to tie my shoes and learning to silence my fears, I became the one everyone looked to.
I am the blueprint — the first to try, the first to fall, the first to get back up. I set the tone, whether I meant to or not. My wins weren’t just mine; they opened doors and widened paths for those behind me. My choices were studied, my mistakes magnified — but through it all, I became the standard.
I am the legacy — not just of those who came before, but of everything they hoped would come next. I carry their sacrifices in my success, their silence in my strength. I am proof that what they endured was not in vain.
This isn’t just pressure. It’s purpose. And though the weight is heavy, so is the crown.
here
🗡️
for your silent battles
you deserve rest.
you deserve relaxation.
you deserve time to recuperate.
And you don’t have to do anything to deserve them
i really like tumblr bc irls aren’t here
told my closest cousin that the outgrown friendship that i remembered when i listened to “kahel na langit” was with his uncle who was only a few years older than me.
her reaction seemed like pure disappointment and she literally said “sus ayaw na sadto.”
guess i was just wasting time reminiscing on stupid old memories 🤣
i hate how my hometown only reminds me of him
