I finished my self portrait!

My life isn't very glamorous or really very interesting tbh, but two new things have wormed their way into my lonely heart: grow-at-home mushroom farms and colour pencils!!

Oh my golly gosh, you would be beside yourselves if you knew how thrilling it is to me to grow mushrooms! They almost expand in front of my eyes, it's magic! Real magic. And of course mushrooms have a glorious amount of folklore associated with them.

So I combined that love of mushies with my new enjoyment of colour pencil drawing. It's so calming to sit there and scratch away. I've used prismacolours here, they're lovely and soft, they just glide on like butter.

Working on a self portrait. It's tricky to get your own likeness when you have a preconceived idea of how you look. I still find noses the most difficult.

@kristendisegna prompted me to draw a selkie, so here is a small sketch. They have sad faces, which is in keeping with selkie stories.
