INFORMATION ABOUT PARIS

Explosions and shootings in Paris

Police speak of 35 people dead and many more who are injured

About 100 people are being held hostage at a concert venue (Bataclan)

There’s no information on the killers yet, they are still at large

Parisians: stay inside or find shelter if you’re still outside. (use the #PORTEOUVERTE hashtag to find shelters!!)

Police know nothing of the killers, the French media is making references to Charlie Hebdo but nothing is confirmed yet.

They have just spoken of another explosion near the stadium and another shooting in a shopping mall (location??). This is not validated by police, but please stay safe. 

People are now being allowed to leave the stadium of Stade the France. 

There is a lot of chaos right now but try to stay calm and keep breathing, my thoughts are with all those in Paris right now <3

BBC is now reporting that President Hollande has declared a state of emergency and the closure of France’s borders. At least 40 people killed. The hostage-crisis is still ongoing.

Cop who unplugged his cam before killing a 19-year-old girl is rehired

Albuquerque police officer Jeremy Dear was ordered to wear a body-camera after many of the city’s residents complained about their encounters with him. Afterward, he routinely failed to plug in the camera. His camera was not running when he shot and killed a 19-year-old girl in 2014.

Dear was fired after the incident, but the Albuquerque personnel board gave him back his job this week, in a 3-2 vote, after Dear’s lawyer argued that the city’s body-cam policy was inconsistently applied.

The Albuquerque police have been singled out by the Department of Justice for “a pattern of excessive force” and the department has now agreed to require its entire force to wear body-cams.
