Overall he just looks a little sickly. Feels also not so good.

Not too fond of being stuck in this position. He worked really hard to sever all his ties to divinity, you see! He wants to be 100% human!

Not used to being seen by humans. Usually only angels, demons and ghosts (and cursed humans) can interact with him

Can immediately notice if you're having love struggles. Ask him to help with your love life, he's good at that! Just don't ask him about his own

Dating a demon (who is also mostly human now). Said demon is the reason why he's like this. He loves him though. And hates him so much. But also loves him even more.

No, his previous assertion was not accurate. Octavo doesn't just look like he lost a fight with a bush, he looks like he is the bush that he was fighting.

"I don't think I believe you," Chamuel says truthfully. (Why wouldn't he be?). Waving the pollen away with one wing, he wraps the other around his roommate's back, guiding him towards the bathroom. "You should get cleaned up first. What are those fancy soaps for if not a situation like this?"

He lets Chamuel lead him towards the guest bathroom without resistance. The room isn't quite as stuffed with random soaps and candles as Octavo's personal bathroom, but he's still stashed a few here in case he didn't feel like walking all the way to his own room while cooking.

"It is the truth!" he says, turning on the faucet and wetting a wash cloth so he can start to wipe his face and hair free of pollen. "He was covered in thorns and I had to help him get them to stop sprouting. In his panic he'd attacked someone. That's where the blood is from. But, it's... It should be fine," he mutters, as if trying to reassure himself more than Chamuel. "Nobody stays dead."

Now that he can see himself in the mirror, it's worse than he feared, all over his sleeves and dried under his nails. Octavo starts to undo the buttons on his shirt. "It seems like spilling your secrets is part of what makes the flowers die off. I could try that, if you're willing to listen."

Chamuel stays near the bathroom door, swiping the pollen off of his wings without much concern.

"None of that made any sense, but okay," he replies almost absent-mindedly (though uncaringly would be a better description). "I do love a good gossip session. And if that makes you feel better, then I'm all for it."

Some of the pollen stays stubbornly stuck between the feathers and Chamuel quickly gives up on trying to get it all out. It'll dislodge eventually, hopefully without his needing to take a shower (not that he has anything against being clean, but dealing with the bathtub and the showerhead is a whiole thing for someone shaped like him). Curiously enough, no flowers seem to be growing on him just yet.

"Maybe while we're at it you could tell me all about your love troubles. I've been curious about that for a while now." He adds with a small smile. It's not clear if it's because of pollen or if he's just being his usual self.

Knocking is not the easiest thing to do without hands. In lieu of shapeshifting, Chamuel gently raps at the door with one of his hooves and barely waits for it to open before he starts talking,

"Hello! Do you have any medical supplies I could borrow?" He pauses, head tilting in thought, "I don't know why I said borrow, it's not like I am going to return them after use. I guess I'll owe you one later?"

He's getting pretty good at the IOU stuff, at least!

The way Chamuel says dinner makes Octavo think he's only passingly familiar with the concept. This could be his first proper introduction to it! They had better make it count.

"Well, I was making sweet potato ravioli... Do you have either of those where you're from?" He gestures for Chamuel to follow him to the kitchen. The Lute is sitting where he left it, watching both of them with its single, hollow eye. Octavo resumes cutting up the yam. "Are you a... a centaur of some sort? If you don't mind me asking."

Did either of those exist back in London? What a good question. Potatoes were definitely a thing, and 'ravioli' sounds like a word he might have heard before. But, again, food is not his forte, at least not yet.

"Probably," he answers cryptically as he follows the other to the kitchen. The instrument gets a quick glance, but he doesn't linger on it (was his new roommate a collector of cursed artifacts too?), instead choosing to sit near the dining table with his legs folded under himself.

And then, another question. This one actually surprises him, as he was under the assumption that Octavo is a low-ranked demon and would certainly know that he is was an angel. Then again, this city was... odd.

"Of some sort, sure," he cocks his head, watching the other's hands as he slices a vegetable into neat pieces. Maybe it's the remains of alcohol talking but he doesn't really want to engage in the dissection of what he currently is. It's tiring on a good day. "It's odd that you ask. Should I assume you're not a demon, then?"

"I can barely see-" Octavo irritably rips the flowers from where they're sprouting on his head and dangling in front of his eyes. His hands are visibly covered in scratches, and there's some blood on his clothes that looks like it was rubbed off of something else. Clouds of pollen float in the air around him, disturbed by his movements.

He throws an arm across his face and sneezes. "I'm sorry, I'll get this cleaned up. Don't mind me, I was just... helping a friend. It's not my blood."

"I think I'll stand." he gives the other almost-angel a sly smile, though he still leans over the back of the bench and settles his folded arms on it. There is obvious curiousity on his face - of all the divine beings he met so far on the island Chamuel fancied himself to be the only one caught in the middle of a fall, yet here was another one with a similar fate. "Thought I was sensing a feeling of lovesickness from you, but now I think I've felt a kindred soul instead."

Octavo's not sure what he expected, but it certainly wasn't this... monster? The newcomer reminds him of a lynel, but with a humanoid face, and wings in place of their arms. Whatever they are, they seem a bit unsteady on their... hooves.

"Ah." Octavo steps fully out from the corner, walking over so they can speak properly. "In that case, welcome to my abode, new housemate~" he lifts his arms in a lazy gesture at the foyer they were both standing in. He's decorated it in an eclectic style, mostly using things he'd stolen on a whim because he thought they looked nice. A few paintings of horses, a macrame tapestry of black and gold yarn, an area rug with a big eye on it that they're standing on...

"You're just in time for dinner. My name is Octavo, by the way." He dips his head in a small bow. "And yourself?"

"Pleased to be here. Not- in whatever this place is supposed to be in general, but this apartment, I mean. You have a good taste." He looks around as instructed, hiding a private smile at the horse paintings. Different world, but some decor sensibilities stay the same, huh?

"Dinner?" Now that's a concept. He knows that is something humans do - has seen them do it, even, but never had a chance to try himself. Food was not a fixation of his back in Heaven, and on his few days on Earth he generally stuck to alcohol instead. But, what better time to try than now?

"I'm Chamuel. Nice to meet you, Octavo." Chamuel bows in response, playing it up a little, before straightening up with some difficulty. "What's for dinner, then?"

He's not doing much, as usual, just sprawled on the couch in the living room watching TV - for some reason they don't have Dying Petals here, but there are plenty of other soaps to keep him entertained - when there's a sudden interruption in the broadcast, and a stern-looking weather man warns about the sudden blooming of flowers over the city causing an uptick in allergies. Chamuel clicks his tongue, annoyed, and fumbles for the remote to turn it down. Close to a human as he was, he was still pretty sure he didn't get allergies, so this hardly mattered.

He just about manages to grab the remote between his wings when the front door opens with a bang, startling him. The remote jumps out of his arms and falls on the floor, clattering right under the coffee table.

Great.

Rising from the couch, he trots to the door to at least put the face to his annoyance. One of his roommates, no doubt, and he can even guess which.

"Do you have to be loud-" he stops as Octavo comes into view, looking... well, disheveled would be a word for it, he supposes. "What happened to you? You look like you lost a fight to a bush."

"I can hold them," he offers lightly, seemingly not at all concerned by the other's gory work. Maybe he's somewhat desensitized to things like that at this point. Cupping his wings in front of him, with his feathers spread, Chamuel creates some space for the ligaments without needing to shapeshift his arms again. It's gotten far too taxing lately.

"I'll take the compliment," he smiles with the corner of his mouth. He's not even sure if that was a compliment, he doesn't actually know much about schools of art (if that even is what this man was still talking about). "I can't say this body still fits me well, but I know people find it aesthetically pleasing. I've been made into many works of art."
