PlayStation VR Price and Release Date Revealed

Last night, GDC 2016 kicked off, with Sony's Andrew House taking to the stage as he spoke about the specifics of the PlayStation VR as well as announce the headsets price and release window.

Acknowledging that the time frame is longer than expected, Andrew House revealed that there are over 230 developers, ranging from small independent studios to the big AAA developers, with a PS VR Star Wars Battlefront game being announced.

PlayStation VR is confirmed to cost £349, which is cheaper than the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets that are being released throughout the year, with PS VR coming out in October with 50 games available at launch.

With the release of PS VR, owners will be able to download the Playroom VR for free from the PlayStation store, and include six games.

Sony clarified that gamers will need a PlayStation Camera to be able to use PlayStation VR, as well as a dualshock 4 and of course a PlayStation 4 console, all of which will be sold separately from the headset.

The Ghost Games Need For Speed reboot finally arrives on PC this week, as it launches on 17th March.

EA Sports UFC 2 is coming this week both online and in store to Love-Gaming.com, and is available on PS4 and XBox One on 17th March.

Assetto Corsa Delayed

Pre-Order Assetto Corsa on: PS4 / XBox One

Assetto Corsa has been pushed back a few months the games publisher, 505 Games, has revealed, with the game now expected to launch on 3rd June.

The reason for the delay is to "ensure the console release delivers the most polished experience for simulation racing fans," with "precision accuracy across every aspect from the meticulous car handling to the laser-measured tracks".

The games developer, Kunos Simulazioni, confirmed that it would be aiming for 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One, with both running at 60fps.

"We fought a lot to have full HD also on Xbox One, but there's no way for us to do it," said Marco Massarutto. "Forza did a very good job - but they have dedicated libraries. Regardless, they did a really good job. When I played the game, I thought 'wow'. They've done such a good job with the visuals."

Star Fox Zero Release Date Finalised

Wii U exclusive Star Fox Zero has been given a final release date, with the game now due to arrive on 22nd April.

But that's not all, Nintendo has gone and announced Star Fox: Guard, which will launch alongside Star Fox Zero, with the former featuring Slippy along with his uncle, Grippy.

Star Fox: Guard started life as a Wii U tech demo that was shown off two years ago at E3, and was then known as Project Guard.

Guard will be available by Nintendo's eshop as well as bundled with Star Fox Zero in a special edition.

Sniper Elite 4 Confirmed For This Year

Rebellion has revealed Sniper Elite 4 in a new teaser trailer, and also confirms that it's coming this year to PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC.

The new game is set in Italy in 1943, and built from the ground up for the current generation (Sniper Elite 3 was a cross-gen release) with larger maps and the resolution is set for native 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and XBox One upon launch.

The campaign will follow on from the aftermath of Sniper Elite 3, which will also support two player co-op. There will also be a number of competitive multiplayer modes on offer.

Overwatch Release Date Revealed

Pre-order Overwatch: Origins Edition on: PS4 / XBox One / PC

Blizzard has confirmed the 24th May release date for Overwatch, which was leaked earlier today via an IGN advertisement for the game.

A Reddit user took a screenshot of the advertisement, which also indicated there would be a beta, before IGN realised their mistake and took it down.

Blizzard's confirmation of the leak also clarified that there is a confirmed open beta for Overwatch on all three platforms on 5th-9th May, while those that pre-order the game will have access from the 3rd of May.

"In the open beta, players will have an opportunity to play all 21 heroes and experience the intense action, tactical depth, and vibrant world of Overwatch prior to the game's release," Blizzard said of the beta.

Fable Legends Cancelled

Microsoft has announced that Fable Legends has been cancelled, with UK based Lionhead Studios, the series' developer, looking like it could be getting closed down.

The game's beta is set to run until 3pm on Wednesday 13th April, with no new players being admitted. It was also announced that players that have bought gold will be receiving a full refund, and will be notified within the next week via email.

It's not only Lionhead Studios that's been hit, with Danish studio Press Play also looking set to close down.

Microsoft released a statement on their blog about the demise of the game and the proposed closure of the studio.

Today, I have some difficult changes to announce that affect some of our Microsoft Studios teams and projects in the UK and Denmark.

After much consideration we have decided to cease development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK. Additionally, we will close Press Play Studios in Denmark, and sunset development on Project Knoxville.

These have been tough decisions and we have not made them lightly, nor are they a reflection on these development teams - we are incredibly fortunate to have the talent, creativity and commitment of the people at these studios. The Lionhead Studios team has delighted millions of fans with the Fable series over the past decade. Press Play imbued the industry with a unique creative spirit behind games like Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Kalimba, which both captured passionate fans. These changes are taking effect as Microsoft Studios continues to focus its investment and development on the games and franchises that fans find most exciting and want to play.

I speak for all of Xbox when I say that despite this news, we remain committed to the development communities in the UK and Europe, and Xbox will continue to support new IP and originality in the games we offer on our platforms, whether they're AAA blockbusters like Quantum Break from Remedy, adventurous new IPs like Sea of Thieves from Rare, or unique new creations from independent developers like Moon Studios with Ori.

No Man's Sky Final Release Date Confirmed

Just over two years after it was first revealed, the eagerly awaited No Man's Sky has been given a final, and set release date of 24th June for PlayStation 4 and PC.

Along side the release date, a special 'Explorer's Edition' of the game for PC has been revealed with a price tag of $150 (£105), of which only 10,000 are being made. Included is a Tin Toy-Style replica space craft, with decals for customisation and a removable background, an exclusive traveller badge, and a PC game code.

No Man's Sky has impressed ever since its reveal, with its vast exploration of procedurally generated planets and environments, and it would feature over 18 quintillion planets with their own fauna and flora, taking roughly 5 billion years to visit every planet in the universe for one second, it's THAT big.

Mass Effect Andromeda Release Window Pushed Back

EA revealed during an investor call that Mass Effect Andromeda won't be arriving in 2016 like originally thought, but it will be out in the first quarter of 2017.

The publisher revealed that they also have Battlefield 5 and Titanfall 2 set for launch in 2016, as well as Mirror's Edge Catalyst still set to launch on 24th May.

With the upcoming Battlefield and Titanfall games likely set to launch between September and November, it's likely to be that Mass Effect Andromeda was pushed back so it'd not become entangled among the other big releases in the run up to the holiday season, though the previous two games did launch in January (ME2) and March (ME3) respectively.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be a departure from the Commander Shepard story, following on from the events of the trilogy, though not directly linked to them. The new game is a new story with a new hero, currently only known as "Pathfinder" after a Bioware artist gave us a detailed look at the character model this week.

We can surely look forward to a more in depth look in to Mass Effect Andromeda at this year's E3 in June, and we can't wait to see what's in store for the future of the series.

Disney Infinity 4.0 Not Planned For This Year

It's been confirmed by John Blackburn and John Vignocchi during the debut Disney Infinity Next broadcast, that Disney Infinity 4.0 won't be launching this year, but instead, Disney Infinity 3.0 will be expanded upon.

This means there will be new playsets and characters to purchase rather than a new starter pack, with a Marvel Battlegrounds playset launching on 25th March. This playset features a co-operative experience with players going up against robotic Disney Infinity heroes, with Captain America, Black Panther, Ant Man and Vision toys being made available for it.

It's also been confirmed there will also be new playsets from Disney, Pixar and Star Wars as well as this Marvel set.

Vignocchi: We'll be releasing new playsets and content updates throughout the year to Disney Infinity 3.0 based on the biggest events coming from the Walt Disney company

Blackburn: We can say that there will be one new playset from each of the four core brands at the Walt Disney company: Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.

Vignocchi: You can expect more characters and content coming to Disney Infinity 3.0 without having to buy a new Starter Pack. Ultimately, the 3.0 addition will be the largest collection of content ever released inside of a Disney game.

Blackburn: In other words, if it's happening inside the Walt Disney Company, it's happening inside Walt Disney.

It's been a long time coming, but Tom Clancy's The Division is now less than a week away from release on consoles and PC.

As a member of the Division, a unit that's trained to handle the fall of society, you are let loose in New York City following an outbreak of smallpox released on banknotes on Black Friday. You are tasked with finding the source of the virus and trying to aid the restoration and order of the city.

You are thrown in to this open world RPG, where you can team up with two other friends to complete the game's campaign, as well as head in to the Dark Zone, where you can betray your team mates and try to earn the special loot that is hidden within.

I had some time with the closed beta, and thoroughly enjoyed my four or so hours with it, and that was mostly just in solo play with half an hour with in the Dark Zone. There's plenty of clothing and weaponry customisation parts to collect as well as clothing that can be found as you scavenge throughout the back alleys and streets.

Another Two Week Delay for Uncharted 4

Pre-order Uncharted 4: A Thief's End on PS4

Sony has announced that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has been delayed by another couple of weeks, with the game now coming out on 10th May worldwide.

On the PlayStation Blog, SCEA CEO and President, Shawn Layden, revealed the decision was to allow for extra manufacturing time once the game has gone gold (approved to be ready to mass produced on to disc).

As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month. In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.

But on a positive note, the game will launch everywhere on the same day. It's nearly here now, and we can't wait. Naughty Dog has also got an open multiplayer beta of Uncharted 4 happening from Friday until Sunday, which is available to download now on the PlayStation store, so we're sure to be checking that out. PlayStation Plus Games For March 2016

The latest Instant Game Collection update was announced in the week, with all the newest additions arriving on Tuesday 1st March. Here's what's in store for gamers with PlayStation Plus memberships.

First up for PlayStation 4 is Broforce, a manic-action 2D shooter with 4 player co-op where you must save the world and kick evil's ass. Next is Galak-Z, an anime style retro space shooter, where you explore hostile environments and battle a number of enemy warring factions as you try to unveil the secrets of the Galak-Z.

On PS3 is Super Stardust HD and The Last Guy, while PS Vita is getting Flame Over and Reality Fighters.

All of the above games are arriving on the service on Tuesday 1st March, while Helldivers, Nom Nom Galaxy, Persona 4 Ultimax, Grid Autosport, Lemmings Touch and Nova 111 are all leaving the Instant Game Collection on 29th February.

Out This Week: Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2

The sequel to the highly popular Plant vs Zombies Garden Warfare arrives on consoles and PC this week (25th February).

The zombies have taken over suburbia while Dr. Zomboss is in the process of rebuilding Suburbia as a zombie utopia with a strengthened zombie horde at his beck and call. The plants are trying to recapture their territory with an all-out attack.

New to Garden Warfare 2 is the 24-player Herbal Assault mode, basically a Gardens & Graveyards in reverse, where plants are on the attack and must turn graveyards in to gardens, while zombies must fight to prevent them from taking their territory and pushing them back. There's also Backyard Battleground, which is a new open-world hub that lets players explore with access to portals that connect to missions and more. On top of these two new modes, all game modes are playable in solo play, with the game featuring split screen mode.

Like the previous game's Garden Ops, a zombie version called Graveyard Ops is available, allowing 4 players to play together to defend a graveyard from the plant opposition.

Out This Week: Far Cry Primal

The Far Cry series returns this week, but in a new twist to the series, Primal sees the franchise go back in to the stone age.

You play as Takkar, the sole survivor of your hunting group after it is ambushed, and you must begin anew, crafting new weapons from materials and resources you scavenge from the land and start your new tribe, with your aim to become the apex predator and conquer Oros.

You don't just have other tribes to contend with in the land of Oros either, as you have all the wildlife to hunt and defend yourself against such as sabertooth tigers, mammoths and other predators, that hunt you during the day and night. You may even have to defend any kills you make as the scent may attract other nearby predators that will challenge you for it. Not only that, but you also have the ability to tame some of the wildlife, controlling them to do your bidding against other tribes.

Can you become the apex predator and rule Oros?
