just gonna quickly rant about stranger things bc someone needs to:
i feel like it shouldve ended in s1 but they saw how much of a hit it was so they wanted to milk the series as much as possible. but was it a good idea? mostly not.
it started out as a mystery show that had strong stephen king vibes and it was top tier imo. Every character had a depth and personality, the plot was very interesting but they had to ruin some aspects of it with contiuning. We pretty much learned everything in s1, s2 and 3 was just the characters trying to solve what the audience already knew so it kinda lost the excitement it had in s1. Not to mention how much they ruined some characters. Mikes character downgrade had me shook, and the fact that they added more and more characers when they couldnt even handle their main characters felt so unprofessional.
Mike cared about his friends so much and loved them dearly but i couldnât see that Mike in s3. Some characters felt so useless even tho they were the main characters, for an example, in the majority of s3 will was just holding his neck and had only one good scene where he destroyed castle byers but it was brushed off after he had to hold his fucking neck again like a mind flayer detector. The plot and the subplots of the show were all over the place. it felt like i was watching seperate shows and i was so bored that i was actually waiting for the âgood subplotâ parts.
in conclusion; the show lost its uniqueness like a disney movie lost its uniqueness after a sequel literally no one asked for. BUT i do not hate the show, in fact i love it and i will continue to watch it because i have an attachement to the characters and overall im curious. im just saying they shouldve not rushed things and write because they love the characters and the story, not just for money.
