Obama Speech 12/6/15
Barrack Obama will be speaking to the nation tonight at 8pm on CNN. He will be discussing the tragedies that have been happening in and outside American boundaries. Specifically he should be addressing the terrorist acts that have been demonstrated in the U.S..
America is the only country in the world of its kind. No history and progress can be compared to that of the United States. As a nation we feel comfortable living day to day and we feel safe and protected by our government’s military. I’m not the one to question America’s military strength because I have no idea of what they are capable of. ISIS on the other hand has been showing the world what they are capable of. This Islamic State of Iraq militant group has been demonstrating acts of terror across the globe. Killing innocent people and catching the attention of the American population. Recently, an act of terrorism was carried out in California. Who would have guessed ISIS would find their way to the U.S. causing trouble. Countries other than the U.S.A. hold nuclear weapons and all types of military weapons that can be used to destroy. Mr. President Obama recognizes that times are changing and someone needs to address the issue of terrorism in the United States.
Although Obama was elected to serve two terms as President of the United States, he still is learning to be a President and take charge for his country .No one is perfect when it comes to representing a country, but the citizens of the United States should not blame Obama for the position we are in as a nation. When Obama was elected to run his first term, America was in a time of economic decline. Obama has done what he can to help rebuild this country and defend it to the best of his abilities. After all the things that have been happening in the few months and this past year, it makes sense for Obama to address the realities of the time we are living in.
I want my class to be aware of what is going on in our country and world. People are going crazy! My peers should watch this speech and hopefully they should learn from it. Acts of violence are being carried out for an unknown purpose. As a nation, we should not be so careless about the news. Even though some may say that news stations are corrupt, most of it still highlights important activity taking place in our country and world.

T.E.C.
In 5th grade, at the age of ten years old, I sold gum for .25 cents to kids in my school. In 9th grade I sold DVDs and CDs to kids in my school. In 10th grade, I sold honey buns, pop-tarts and oatmeal creme pies to pay for shoes and for extra money. Growing up, my family members would always call me a hustler. I was trying to find jobs long before I was legal age in my city to work. I would do anything from shovel driveways in the winter, to cut other people’s lawns in the summer. Business was something usual to me. I always thought about having my own business one day. Who knew I would have a company to call mine at the age of 17?
Most people have a mind set of graduating high school, getting a college degree and finding a job after college and making a career out of it. This is very ideal. I am a Sociology major, and there are plenty of jobs I can seek with this degree. I just happened to want to create my own business while earning a college degree. This way by the time I graduate college I will have a company four years strong. Self-employment does not happen overnight. School work and thinking about how you’re going to pay the next bill can keep you up all night, struggling. I believe nothing long-lasting in life comes without a struggle.
Triple Eye Company was established in 2014. With the help of my cousin, one of my many dreams became a reality. My older cousin and I created this business with lots of determination and passion for something different. We planned on making money from selling clothing and taking pictures for various people/events. Personally this company was going to be the one that I continue to build for the rest of my life.
Under the Triple Eye Company name I can do anything I want! For example have my own events! I want to have non-for profit campaigns to help communities. I want people to understand that Triple Eye Company is not out for your money, but out to show people there is still hope. The mind is something not to be wasted. With my company I want to be able to give, more than I receive. Triple Eye Company represents a movement expressing creativity, spreading positivity, knowledge, peace and love.
My Project Reflection
The project ideas that I read from students in my class were very interesting. Most of them opened my eyes to new research. It is terrible that people of my generation have to go through so many things. People have been struggling for years with these issues. When I look at what I will be researching for my project, I feel different. I’m researching a street, located in a city with rich history. I decided to go a different route in my research. I plan on being able to show people that not only people from the 20th century can do hands on research. Gathering information, photos, and interviewing people, learning about cultures and making simple observations are just a few things I will be doing on a unique street on the west side of Buffalo, NY. My fellow student’s research plans inspires me to do my own research.

Sexual abuse and the ‘victim-offender cycle” is what I decided to dedicate my project to. Being an education major I know there is a good chance I will have a student in one of my classes who has been abused, is being abused or have seen a parent or relative be abused. Unfortunately abuse isn’t uncommon and it’s a very emotional topic to discuss. I know quite a few loved ones who have been abused and I think that’s why although this is a tricky topic, it’s important to me. I’m interested in educating myself and others about the ‘victim offender cycle”. After completing a little bit of research I found many articles on why males become sexual abusers/molesters/rapists. 35% of offenders said they were victims of abuse as children. Only 11% of offenders said they were not abused as a child. I am interested in researching more about the factors that contribute to this cycle of abuse. Why victims of abuse may decide to continue the cycle later on in life. Wouldn’t we like to know why people abuse others? Why they want to hurt others emotionally and physically? Why they might seek to become offenders? I think this is a topic that a lot of people would be interested in. It’s something that can hit home for many and even if someone doesn’t experience abuse or know someone who has it will still touch people’s hearts. Especially with all the stories regarding young ladies and even some males in college being sexual assaulted I think it’s an important topic. These are things that happen on college campuses daily. I think the biggest problem I will encounter will completing my web is finding appropriate pictures to help show my research. It’ll be easy for someone to realize a picture shows abuse when shown it but I’m not sure if they’ll get exactly what I’m saying by a picture. Since this topic can be so graphic and emotional it is tricky to gather pictures that hopefully won’t make others feel uncomfortable. I want to interest other in this topic and show how important this topic is and why we should pay attention to the matter.

Sexual abuse is a very serious topic. I think it’s a shame that people go through this. Especially young kids. Children get scared from sexual abuse for the rest of their lives. Many people overcome the stuff they go through, and unfortunately some don’t. I bet there is a whole lot of interesting statistics you can find on sexual assault offenders, as well as victims. I’m not to aware of the “victim-offender cycle”. but I look forward to learning more about it. Also the sexual assault that people face on campus is terrible and happens without anyone else knowing. This is an important topic to use for your project and it can go a long way! Good luck!
Project 1
If I had to guess my project’s issue is very different from everyone else’s. I have chosen to research about animals in captivity, so more specifically how animals in zoos and in marine parks get treated. You hear endless things about animal activists trying to put an end to sea worlds and showing awful pictures all over the internet of animals being neglected in these parks, is this what happens in every area? And is this inhumane of us to keep these animals locked up in cages for us to view as pleasure. I have been researching many points of this not just the negative, even though I do believe the negative out weigh the positive by quite a lot. I have looked into if animals being in captivity is educational or beneficial to the human race, also if zoos and marine parks are trying to help save animals or just doing it to make a profit. Because there are many animal conservations that are nonprofit, and only goal is to save an animal species. I also have checked how healthy the animals usually are in captivity and how long they usually live, there mental health is usually very poor as ours would be if we were locked in a cage all day in a pretend environment. And their physical health is worse than how it would be if they were in the wild, they do not get as much exercise being locked up. Elephants walk up to 50 miles a day out in the wild and in a cage and they hardly have room in move back and forth. This messes up how they are taught to survive and how their brain functions. Which is why we see so much depression in these animals and so much fatality and sickness. Another factor is the animal trainers and vets who work in these zoos and marine parks, do they really want what’s best for the animals? They are there to make a profit as a lot of us would and they are there to study the animals. But these wild animals are not acting as they would in their natural environment right? So they are not benefiting the researchers and trainers in zoos or the civilians trying to view them. To really learn these animals and see their real beauty we need to let them be in the wild, help preserve their habitat if need be but they can survive on their own. I myself have gone to plenty of zoos and aquariums all over the country, because I love animals and I felt as if this was my way to learn more about them. But in all reality it is not, I was trying to learn about animals that were forced into this pretend habitat and who act nothing like they would in the wild, they are only hurting the animals who live in there.
This sounds like a dope project! I also loved animals and thought they should not be treated the way that they are. You choosing this as your project, to study and research, shows how much you really care for the well-being of animals. Are you going to look at zoos in a certain area? I know how terrible people treat animals in zoos and other holding facilities, and it’s sickening. I feel like you’re going to find some interesting photos of animals during your research. I never thought about learning more information on the physical and mental burden that animals really face. I’m interested now!

Every day thousands of kids wake up afraid to go to school. Bullying is a problem that affects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on its but teachers, and other adults are affected to, they may not understand how extreme bullying can get.Bullying is when a person is picked on over and over again by an individual or group with more power, either in terms of physical strength or social standing. Two of the main reasons people are bullied are because of appearance and social status. Bullies pick on the people they think don’t fit in, maybe because of how they look, how they act for example shy kids and kids that are different. Some bullies attack their targets physically, which can mean anything from shoving or tripping to punching or hitting, or even sexual assault. Others use psychological control or verbal insults to put themselves in charge. For example, people in popular groups or cliques often bully people they categorize as different by excluding them or gossiping about them (psychological bullying). They may also taunt or tease their targets (verbal bullying Verbal bullying. My project would be be about what the bully and the bully victim goes through because their are real reasons why bullies bully, in eschooltoday.com research shows that kids bully because People can direct frustrations, hurt, anger and difficulty at home or in class by bullying.Lack of attention from friends, parents or teachers can make a person bully you, just to feel popular and seen as ‘tough’ or ‘cool’ and in charge.bullies point Some kids have learned bullying from others (parents, brothers or sisters, friends). They have seen them getting their way by being angry or pushing other people around. They believe that by putting fear in you, they will have the best shot at everything in school. Some people also do that because they are victims themselves.bullies Bad up-bringing at home can make people insensitive to other people’s feelings and emotions. They are happy to see their classmate depressed, sad and hurt. They usually try them out on people who appear smaller or weaker to them. in my project i want to make a chart on what the victim and the bully go through
I feel like you can really go somewhere with this project. People get bullied everyday and that sucks. I like how you are bringing attention to all the different kinds of bullying. For example, you mention physical bullying, verbal bullying and pyschological bullying. I feel like that will give you a way to provide different examples of bullying that people deal with. I also find it important that you do mention how there are two main reasons why people are bullied, for their appearance and social standing. I think it’s sad that kids get bullied for something that is usually not their fault.

My First Project
For our first project we had to choose a topic worth studying and doing research on. Before we were assigned this project, I was already thinking about doing a study in the Buffalo area. I wanted to study the culture of Buffalo. Like I said before I am a Sociology major, so this was somewhat a study I had in mind. I needed to narrow my study down. It was somewhat a challenge to choose a topic for my first project. I chose to study Grant St., in Buffalo, NY.
Grant Street in Buffalo is not like any other street in Buffalo. It’s located on the west side of the city and it stretches from around the Buffalo State campus until it turns into Hampshire Street heading toward downtown Buffalo. I do not know much about the history of it of this street. I know just from riding the bus, as well as my bike, that this street is very unique. It has a history I have no idea about. For me to ride my bike down this street in the middle of the night on my way home, I feel apart of a different atmosphere. There is a plethora of ethnic backgrounds that exist on Grant Street. You see corner stores or bodegas on every other block. Then you see beautiful art work on the outside of an older building. You see the single mothers holding the hands of their baby-girls. I feel as if there is more to know about the aura of this street.
Throughout my research I will gather my data from a variety of different sources. I will do things such as take pictures on Grant Street and interview people from this area. This is going to be different from most of the research I have ever done. Coming from Syracuse, NY, I do not know much about the city of Buffalo. All I knew was the campus and the Walden Galleria. Now that I live off campus I witness the real life action of Buffalo, NY. It’s a city like no other. The history goes deep. Plus, I will get the chance to study one of the most impoverished streets, in one of the top five poorest cities in the nation! To me that’s different, but I will do it.
This project is going to change my life. I say that because there’s a lot of information I could learn that will most likely impact my life one way or the other. People who live their lives around Grant Street live different lives than those who live their lives around Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, NY. These two streets run parallel to each other and are less than a mile away from each other. You can see the segregation throughout Buffalo. I found interest in this and decided to make my first project about Grant Street.
