Domain Change and Asset Liquidations

We've finally changed our domain, for the last time. After months of waiting, the sub-domain https://longshots.eu.org/ was approved and registered to the site, and this was fortunately before the mk0.pw domain that we've been using was set to expire in February. the EU.org sub-domains are free and permanent, and so we expect the domain to apply to our site for the remainder of our team's existence.

To echo what has already been posted on the main site news, we are liquidating some online assets that we feel are not really needed for the team.

The first of this is the FreeFlarum board we've had hosted at https://longshots.flarum.cloud/. Given that the host just reactivated this board upon our request, it will likely remain up for a couple of months, but will inevitably be removed for inactivity. Given that the host's resources could be better used by boards that actually are active on the platform, we feel this is the best way to proceed with this.

Also, the Wordpress blog we've been hosting on our main site will be removed soon. Any content deemed worth preserving will be relocated to other areas of the site. I expect this to be done within a month or so.

Beyond that, it will leave us with our main site section that contains pages and team information, our main phpBB forum board, our ProBoards.com backup board, our team Discord server, our team wiki, and our Tumblr blog here (you're reading it right now). These will be the only online assets we'll keep running.

VX6 Vehicle Issue

Thanks to everyone in the server the other night who noticed after two unfortunate crashes that the vehicles were causing the problem. I was able to quickly determine that it was cycling the vehicle weapons that would eventually cause an endless loop which would crash the server.

The first crash unfortunately happened during one of the biggest games I've gotten to play on the server in a long time, but at least it brought to light an issue that has likely been crashing the server at various times since we've been running it.

As of right now, I've recoded the weapons rotation functions for the vehicles and it tests to be fine for me. If you notice a problem again, please let us know in either our forums or Discord chat server so that we can look into fixing it again if necessary.

Midair: Community Edition - {LS} Group Keys

We are trying to get approved for closed beta keys for Midair: Community Edition.

If anyone in the team community is interested in playing this with us, join into the {LS} Discord server at https://longshots.mk0.pw/discord/ and mention your interest.

The devs are looking for groups of players, ideally 10 or more, so we could use all the help we can get showing the interest to play so that we can get approved for the keys.

Also, let us know what kind of schedule you have and what times you would be up for playing.

Shayk's Domain Merge

Shayk's Domain, which was located at https://shayk.mk0.pw/ has now had its assets (wiki) merged into the {LS} site at https://longshots.mk0.pw/.

You can access the wiki at https://longshots.mk0.pw/wiki/. Pages and text were edited to reflect that the wiki is now part of the {LS} team site, but there may be remnants of text referring to Shayk's Domain in places.

The downloads that were hosted at Shayk's Domain will be, for the most part, purged. Some of these files are hosted remotely on the net and may get listed on the {LS} site over time while they remain available. However, there are currently no plans to set up a downloads section of the {LS} site similar to what was being hosted on the Shayk's Domain blog site.

We will maintain a mirror of the TribesUniverse.com site and its downloads to preserve them since the original site has already retired into an archived state as it is. It will be located at https://longshots.mk0.pw/tu/ once it's been relocated.

Site Relocation

We have had to relocate our site to a new server location.

The move appears to have gone without any issue, but please let us know in our forums if you notice anything that seems like a potential issue.

Team Forums Changed

The {LS} forums are no longer going to be hosted on FreeFlarum.com at https://longshots.flarum.cloud/.

While there was nothing wrong with the FreeFlarum.com hosting or the Flarum board software, our presence there didn't really garner the attention that the old phpBB board did.

Given that the phpBB board data was still preserved, it was decided that we would let the Flarum board go and revert back to the phpBB one.
