When I see new people getting into Ghost, they always ask about the lore but babes, I'm going to have to tell you something. 5% of the lore you see is canon, 10% is shit Special/Tobias said in interviews - most likely without thinking and the other 85% is from the fandom - whether from fanfictions, theories, art etc. Ghost is basically a sandbox, we're just given very limited information and allowed to run wild with the characters so have fun with it and try not to worry about what is and isn't canon too much.

Reminder that seeing a disabled person participate in a task once does NOT mean it is easy and straightforward for them and that making assumptions (and loudly voicing said assumptions) based on that is incredible unhelpful

You don't see the preparations made in advance to be able to tolerate the event.

You don't see the discomfort or pain they're experiencing during the event.

You don't see the rest after the event.

You don't see the crash or flare up that the event may cause.

You haven't considered that their disability could be dynamic. Sure, they may have managed an event however if their condition is dynamic there aren't any garentees they can handle it multiple times, equally there are no garentees they'll be able to handle it in the future.

Been thinking about why this annoys me so much when it did not use to.

It's a terrible place to put long of thoughts and ideas that I like to share. I cannot search for them on my blog ever again to find them. No one sees them. And they're not particularly readable.

Literally I migrated back to Tumblr because I can have long-form posts here.

People trying to carry on entire conversations in the replies. It's really, really, really not particularly functional for more than a handful of replies, especially if you know OP. If you're answering a specific question or making a specific note, that makes sense to leave in the replies! Having a follow-up conversation in them drives me up a wall and down a creek.

It's the primary form of interaction I get these days. I'm sorry, maybe I'm being a picky entitled asshole, but I don't like that. I like being able to actually make posts on the "Make posts" site about longer and more detailed replies and thoughts. Multiple reblogs can also get messy and weird to read on the blog, sure, and I often delete some of the middle versions, but at least it's an open conversation on the Make Posts site.

Makes me feel vaguely like people don't want to actually publicly interact with me.

*points aggressively at the ask box* I miss having things there, really.

I love talking to people, but I just. Don't. I don't get why this is where people want to have conversations these days. And why that's the only place to have conversations.

But I also don't understand or like the bizarre way people have decided to start sharing tags.

Maybe I just need to get off Tumblr (there is nowhere better than this for my things)

Why is sex-based oppression considered a bad framework? I sometimes see it compared negatively to the concept of transandrophobia, and I’m curious why. Thank you!

there is utility in understanding that different people have different relationships to reproductive rights, social norms, etc based on their biology and the societal forces that start acting on us literally at birth. I'm a trans woman, no matter how much I want to I can't get pregnant. the sex that I was assigned at birth did not cause that, but it is why my driver's license is misleading.

tacitly asserting that sex is an immutable biological fact and not a social assignment

treating assigned sex as the most important factor determining someone's relationships to the things in the paragraph above

grouping trans people with the sex that they were assigned at birth

straight-up ignoring intersex people

literally nothing beneficial. it's just asking you to ignore all nuance in favor of the sex you were assigned at birth.

what I mean: "sexual intercourse" is as much a social construct as "romantic courtship," and you discover this very quickly as a queer person if you try to talk to able bodied straight cis people who literally think the only thing that counts as Actual Sex is penis-in-vagina penetration, like they call oral "foreplay" it's so dire. various people have a lot of vested interest in cleanly defining "sex" vs "not sex" for a whole slew of reasons (ex. censorship dodging and enforcing, conferring the social clout of virginity and prowess, finding and closing loopholes about premarital sex, deciding what relationships "count" as serious partnerships, ligating what is general assault vs sexual assault vs Something That's Definitely Probably Fine And Not Sexual At All, Actually, etc.), and it's really not something you can just fall back on as obvious common sense that people are dumb for questioning.
