oh, to be loved without having fear of being replaced, or to be chosen without being compared.
Lucía is a forensic nurse, a little information on Lucía's job for reference to any partners. it will be linked in the carrd, but please do not reblog this post.
Lucía is a former Royal Navy Medical Officer, with an MD in trauma. After her discharge, she decided to take some time out and retrain as a Registered Nurse and she also obtained her S.A.N.E (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certification.
On an average day, her work hours are from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. But she’s almost always on call, in case of an emergency—which happens quite frequently.
Lucía handles different kinds of cases, including (but not limited to) child abuse, domestic violence, and, in some rarer instances, homicide. She will also be among one of the first responders, after law enforcement, assisting individuals experiencing extreme physical and emotional distress. As a S.A.N.E-certified forensic nurse, she also treats sexual assault survivors and files reports with police and other protective services.
Lucía works with the survivors of violent crimes, treating injuries, collecting forensic evidence, and providing emotional support during and after traumatic events. She also collaborates with non-medical professionals to coordinate next steps; including transfers to foster care or domestic-violence shelters. In certain situations, Lucía must also work with the perpetrators of those crimes, in order to properly collect evidence.
Lucía may also investigates deaths under suspicious circumstances, documenting findings that may later be used as evidence within the legal system.
In the event of mass-casualty incidents, such as terrorist attacks or shootings, Lucía must be on scene, putting her trauma experience to critical use. She will assist in both medical aid and forensic documentation.
Her role also goes beyond the immediate medical care, as she’s required to document injuries, submit reports, and provide expert testimony when cases go to court.
