@luckyno4
The fourteenth was my birthday.
I missed it.
I broke my axel hitting a pothole. More like a crater. I swear it didn't look that bad when I was driving up. Thought it was going to become a sinkhole under me.
I've lost my voice, and I'm wearing a mask around my house to keep my kids from getting whatever I have.
I still do not have my voice back.
I've lost my voice, and I'm wearing a mask around my house to keep my kids from getting whatever I have.
A woman I met at the bar invited me to church with her today. Turns out, she goes to church with Sarah, so she's pissed.
Sarah called me up ten minutes after church let out and gave me an earful about showing my worthless face around her. Like I didn't raise our daughter for the same eighteen years she was seeing her one weekend a month. She told my date all my kids are from different moms (Yes.) and I have some kind of freaky fetish (No.) and that I was gonna knock her up and leave her like I did Sarah (Sarah left me when Em was eight months old) and she broke off our 0-date trial run with me via text message.
So. June's gonna be a winner, I just know it.
Good midnight to everyone. On my way to pick up Andy, a balcony from an upper story apartment collapsed on me with such force that it jammed into the concrete, its metal bars cagelike, probably to keep kids on the right side of them. I had to be jaws-of-lifed out of there. I was stuck for four hours, in a lying position, while they tried everything else first. Like jacking it up (they think the bars bent into hook shapes in the ground) and coming through the stone floor (rebar net). This thing weighs a ton by the way. Probably the city will shut down the whole sidewalk while the building's reassessed. The next guy won't be so lucky.
The building offered $1200 in credit to the residents-only restaurant on the top floor because, although I was trapped in what amounts to a sarcophagus on their front sidewalk, I was only bruised and got one cut on my non-dominant hand. Which is absolutely ridiculous, so I am going to have to sue them for the fees for Andy's school's after-school care. Because he was there so late they gave him a snack and dinner. They called me three times asking me to come pick him up before I suggested they turn on the news.
This is an embarrassment.
Huuhhhh...
Well. Here I am, back here again. I have had two relationships crash and burn since I last dared to show my face...I guess I'll find out if my duty of responsibility was enough to keep me from facing post-relationship consequences this time, or if I'll be introducing Kev and Andy to their new sibling in a couple months.
in a kill it with your sword kill it with your sword amen mood today
Went to a buddy's show and got stuff all over me. Some kind of paint. Not voluntarily. Why would your event have body painting and also waitstaff on rollerskates.
I feel like someone should have realized that was an incredibly bad idea.
Then again, it was one of Cordell's (friend of mine) art. Galleries? Exhibitions? One of his Art Thingsâ˘ď¸. Maybe it was like that on purpose.
the other night i tried to make a curry and i got chilli burns all over my face, so i thought to myself âhang on, doesnât milk soothe chilli burns? it doesâ and i couldnât google because i couldnât see so i just had to blindly feel my way to the fridge and pour out a bowl of milk, and then plant my face in the bowl of milk, anyway at that point the rice cooker went off and triggered a power surge which turned my electricity off, which i didnât notice at first because i had my face in a bowl of milk and when i did emerge from the dairy prison i thought i had gone blind with chilli burns. so no i donât really cook much.

DOES anyone know fun things to do to cheap ramen without any fresh produce or meat.
Chili crisp, boiled egg
Lunch meat or spam on top
Cheese, mayonnaise, soy sauce
I like to take a can of bean sprouts and freeze them in chicken stock and add em in while i'm boiling the noodles. You can't just leave the can in the fridge because they develop botulism but frozen has never hurt me.
i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.
Need it to be easier?
baby carrots (good dipped in ranch)
Celery sticks (add some peanut butter or cream cheese for extra flavor and protein)
Broccoli (good with ranch, cheese, or salt/pepper/butter)
Canned peas (you can microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. Good with salt/pepper/butter)
Bell peppers (cut into strips, good with cream cheese)
Canned green beans (can be microwaved in microwave-safe bowl. Good with salt/pepper/butter)
Hummus (good with crackers or tortilla chips)
Salsa (good with tortilla chips)
Guacamole (good with tortilla chips)
Need it in something?
Can't see it:
Hummus
salsa
Guacamole
Can see but disguised flavor (can usually be found store bought or done at home and use different veggies):
Dressed up ramen - just toss in some random veggies in ramen of your choice. Pretty much everything I've tried goes fine with it.
Chicken pot pie
Vegetable soup (with so many together it's hard to taste any specific one!)
Chicken noodle soup
Sweet and sour pork (haven't tried it but chicken should be fine in place of pork)
Texture problems:
Need it soft:
Hummus
Salsa
Guacamole
Cooked carrots
Avocados
Beans (personally I prefer black beans and canned baked beans)
Peas (make sure to cook well, great value brand has the softest peas I've tried)
Cooked broccoli (note: it does smell bad while cooking)
Cooked asparagus (note: also smells bad while cooking)
Cooked zucchini and squash (good together but can be eaten separate)
You can also puree most vegetables and eat with a spoon or use them as a dip
Needs to be crunchy:
Raw carrots
Raw celery
Raw bell peppers
Salad (remember you can put whatever you want in it! Even if that means no lettuce)
Most veggies are okay raw, and are usually very crunchy
Veggies google says stay crunchy after lightly cooking:
Snap peas
Brussel sprouts
Cabbage
Water chestnut
Bamboo shoots
Broad texture tips:
You can change textures by eating raw, cooking, chopping, pureeing, etc
You can separate different textures to use in different ways (ie using broccoli tops in a soup and eating the bottoms raw)
It also really helps to think about why you dislike a vegetable. I found that I am scared of green foods so I like to use those veggies for ingredients in things they are well hidden for. I've also learned that watching something while eating helps because then I'm not looking at the gross green things. When possible, I also like to get help hiding it (ie using cream of celery soup in my chicken and dumplings).
Remember that vegetables are important because they contain nutrients that other foods donât contain. NOT because they are low calorie.
Eating vegetables slathered in pork fat is always better than not eating vegetables. In fact fat will help you absorb the nutrients. Get those nutrients in your body by any means necessary.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking that you HAVE to eat vegetables raw or steamed or some other diet-culture-approved way.
The buttery, honey-drizzled vegetables you will actually eat are WAY better than the plain steamed ones you DON'T eat. It's not like the butter and honey take AWAY the vegetables' nutrients. They don't.
in addition, I've heard studies show that you actually absorb more nutrients from food you enjoy, so veggies with honey/butter/hot sauce/whatever actually might be healthier than forcing yourself to eat raw/steamed/unseasoned veggies that bring you no joy!
but for real, I truly believe that the best food is the food you can eat, especially if you struggle with food and nutrition in the first place. fuel yourself!

iâve said it before and iâll say it again: what we want is for these things to be run like a HOUSEHOLD⌠a home. A household still has a budget and an income and resources to manage; all the moving parts are the same but the focus is different.
a business will let every person in it die a terrible death if it makes the business profit. A household will spend itâs last dollar to keep the people in it safe and healthy.
A household will use money as a resource to add value to the lives of the people in the household. A business will use people as a resource to add monetary value to the business
We donât want a government run like a business, we want a country run like a household. Because we live here.
i think something happened to me that isn't just blind bad luck.
I have cut my thumb on a bottlecap.
