I saw it in the auction house and was saving the money for it. It was 25 gems, which yeah is pretty expensive but I guess worth it for a triple color I guess. But I come back to find that he’s already been bought!! Ok, whatever, someone beet me to him…but then I see that THIS is what they did to him?!?!! Why not let someone who wants to give it good lore and actual nice apparel have it?! Instead you hog it and give it a shitty name and cover it in shitty purple apparel for your little joke. What, is this dragon just some kind of meme or something to you?! I sure wish I could have the treasure and gems to just throw away on a perfectly good triple color irifacebelly dragon for no reason other than to turn it into a shitty joke. I’ve always been curious as to which breed of dragon I relate to the most, so I decided to read through FR’s encyclopedia entries and devise a few questions in order to do just that. I got Ridgeback!  Here’s the link~  I do not claim the material that was used in the making of this quiz. It is rightfully owned by Flight Rising and Stormlight Workshop

I made this quiz for a friend who’s planning on joining Flight Rising, who was trying quizzes and complained that they all had questions like “what’s your favorite dragon breed?” and otherwise had rather obvious answers. I hoped maybe I could create something that takes a different approach to figuring out your flight!

I’m really curious to see if my results tend to hit the mark or not, there’s so far been a good mix of “this was entirely unexpected” and “this is exactly me”, so I’m not sure yet.

(Also for the sake of discussion, I’m leaving this cheat-sheet that has the points for all the answers. Please only look after taking the quiz! I want to see what people think about my choices. To be clear though, I have no plans to update this quiz.)

it’s really fun to see folks discuss “did we choose our progen’s tert color” bc I love both data and weird internet fever dreams, but what *I* wanna know is:

why did you choose the custom progen that you did? breed, gender, and colors–?

oh and just a PSA for anyone not on the forums, the biggest obelisk gene art errors i’m seeing right now are:

all hatchlings have the wrong underbelly color

giraffe/hex are basically invisible in almost every color, probably had the opacity turned down

iri/shim seems to have a hard gloss and no hue shift in a bunch of colors, but not all (i.e. it’s extra shiny and uniform) - i’m not sure if this’ll be fixed or not, because of how non-uniform irishim is already.

the starmap/constellation genes are missing the layer with sharp white sparkling stars on them, so they look hazy, and also seem to have unusual highlights that might be wrong

noxtide accent colors (the bright gradient at the edge of the wings) is missing for f pose in all colors

the python/morph accent colors are wrong for a bunch of colors (so like, red usually has patches of dark blue, but currently has black instead)

the ‘incorrect gene colors’ thread in the bug reports forum has the whole list and details at the top of each new page in the thread in an updating masterpost, including plenty smaller/less noticeable ones not listed above. as someone who got my ass kicked by the banescale metallic art error during that release (RIP my gems), if you’re considering geneing your dragons right away i’d check it out first!

The Obelisk in the story is named Mirth, and it really got me thinking...what if, whether the Earthshaker named every Obelisk he carved or they chose their names themselves, what if there's a pattern there? If there are a bunch of g1 Obelisks going out into Sornieth right now and they've been named things like Mirth and Joy and Celebration and Curiosity?

I think it's very sweet to think about each new Obelisk picking some sort of virtue or positive trait they want to emulate. Like, this is a brand new breed without a history and without a culture and it's sweet to think that they're still picking what's important to them, and the first one we hear about calls himself Mirth because he decides that is what's important

Eliminate - The Movie

A small yet heartfelt tribute to my favorite feature of Flight Rising!

For those curious, I recorded for exactly 30 minutes. In those 30 minutes, my dragons missed 18 times! That's one miss roughly every 1.5 minutes.

When you open the marva’s bag, it’ll turn into a different colour bag. There are three options, and they look like this:

All throughout April 1st on-site, it will continue to cycle through these three bags.

On April 2nd on-site, though, the bag will open and become an item based on the bag you finished cycling on! So make sure to stay on the bag you want an item from (even if we don’t know what the bag will turn into yet)

Aight I didn't know if they were going to update the Beastclan range maps in the encyclopedia so I went ahead and did it myself lmao. This is 90% adapted directly from the old maps but I added a few headcanons that I thought were likely. Individual maps below the cut!
