DUE SOUTH

I drew this in a fugue state. It felt like the easiest thing in the world. I love Due South. I especially Love Ben and Ray K’s dynamic, and how Ray wears thick-rimmed glasses when he’s aiming his gun. I also love the manga FAKE, which always had these great flowery book covers, and i felt like these two things needed to be brought together. So here you are.

I have totally got back into Due South recently. It started with me casually reading fic and now I'm rewatching the whole thing. The theme tune immediately makes me feel safe and happy and remember better times. I'm going back to the 90s I don't care. Got my Sega Master System 2 out as well.

If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public. Not saying that you need to be a social butterfly- but there is a genuine problem with not being able to order your own meal at a restaurant. And it cannot be solved by always having someone else do it for you.

Hello me in my 20s. Scared of getting a bus (which stop do I need? Need the exact fare in change ready in my hand or I will get it wrong. Cannot be heard properly by the driver...), scared of cash machines, scared of transactions in a shop, scared of asking anybody for anything, even if it's reasonable. To be fair, contactless payment has made things a lot easier and I still need to psych myself up to speak to people sometimes but I have definitely built up my social skills now I'm nearly 39.

I have also recently discovered that if you sit at a bar reading fanfic or just looking at trinkets on the shelves or just vibing to the music...people come up to YOU to speak. You can stay stationary on a stool at the bar and the socialisation occurs around you!!! And then people start to recognise you and say hello the next time.

Or maybe I've just got older and I don't give a shit anymore...
