Rhysand and Feyre fanart that I just finished!
NESTA didn't have to crawl for Cassian's forgiveness (you go, queen, crawl for NO ONE!!) after all the harsh things she said to him, the way she purposefuly looked at him to make him feel less (so he would stay away and she could pretend to protect herself while her self hatred only grew in her depression)
But you think ELAIN should?? after doing absolutely NOTHING bad to Lucien?? Get tf off
I'm on Elriel's side, kind of, but I don't think we should use what Nesta does in ACOSF as a point of comparison. She bowed to Amren ffs. It was a lot of nonsense.
No one should have skipped ACOFAS, because there is one important development in Elain and Lucien's story:
They both tell Feyre they can't stand being near each other.
People say that Elain is leading Lucien on or whatever- that just isn't true.
She is too nice to send him away, sure. But Lucien plainly tells Feyre he knows she can't stand him, and he can't stand being around her or the night court. This is after we learn he's made a Band of Exiles with Jurian and Vassa; to which Feyre even states Vassa and Lucien are the only exiles(and calling him an acolyte, he's blushing while talking about Vassa- shes not stupid, she knows whats up).
Feyre even says that Lucien has shown no interest in bridging their gap.
Lucien is moving on, to the point by ACOSF that Mor knows he is loyal to Vassa.
But, for Feyre's sake, Elain and Lucien are not out right acknowledging they aren't interested at all in their bond. I can't see how it isn't obvious to ANY reader when its freaking written explicitly in ACOFAS that they make each other uncomfortable.
It's gross that people think Elain needs to do more for Lucien or grovel for him when SJM has already explained neither one of them are interested in each other.
I'm not saying that their situation can't change in the next book, but at this point, in the books, it's pretty clear that Elain prefers Azriel's company(and kisses) and Lucien prefers Vassa's(he's literally living with her). Why anyone would choose to ignore their preferences is beyond me; I didn't write them this way, SJM did.
Okay, I agree. But for Feyre's sake? Let's not blame Feyre. This is Elain and Lucien's problem. If anything, Feyre acted as a mediator to give them a chance to get to know each other, given that she's one of the few people capable of helping bridge the gap due to her closeness to both of them, but that's all. At the end of the day, Feyre is Elriel's number one shipper. And she was the first person to question Elain and Lucien's bond.
jesper regularly assists wylan in his council meetings. one day he has to go back to novyi zem to help his father with something, but it falls around a bunch of important merch meetings, so wylan can't go with him. jesper can't stay either, and wylan freaks out, just a little, because he can't fathom having an assistant that he doesn't know already. there's only one other person in ketterdam that wylan knows enough to be comfortable with reading to him
enter kaz brekker, bastard of the barrel, actively participating in merchant council meetings
This is very unscientific and just for fun / to sate my own curiosity lmao

This is me. Hi!
“i just think it would be funny because it would get people angry as fuck 😭” Same. like idrc if someone says they don’t want it to happen most Feyre Feysand stans want it to happen because people would be pressed as fuck and it would be badass as hell.
She annoys me as an author with how little she’s written about Feyre since Acowar in 2017 & only ever writes or talks about “Rhys rhys rhys her sisters and his brothers” like she was trying to make it seem like “Feyre is even stronger as a mother now” Okay then WRITE ABOUT HER THEN GIRL? She made HOFAS the Rhys Nesta & Az show & that’s why HOFAS flopped & all her comments were pissed about her not involving Feyre in the crossover, I bring all this up to say that not only would it be funny as shit to see haters mad by High Queen Feyre and High King Rhys but I also feel like that’s one of the only things that can redeem this series for me as a Mainly Feyre girly. I don’t care for her sisters no matter how many Feysands go crazy over Elain for whatever reason, I just want to see her write about Feysandnyx and see Feyre use her fucking powers for once. It’s like she’s sidelined Feyre so her sisters can shine by being powerful since they can wield the trove, which is a major cheat code to make them more powerful than Feyre since apparently she can’t use them. Her giving Nesta that trove crown pissed me off so bad, everyone calling Nesta a queen and SJM referring to Nesta as a Queen of Night in ACOSF? Only way to redeem it all is to make Feyre Queen or to just let her shine again period. She claims to love Feyre but hasn’t proven it in her writing, she just writes as if she’s another Rhys fangirl who is self inserting herself into Feyres sisters now.
exactly like they will be hating on feysand over everything regardless might as well piss them off even more atp 😭
i know right this is really pissing me off actually- ever since acosf, but hofas really sealed the deal for me about my concerns about how she’s writing feyre. just completely sidelining her for rhys and nesta.
like we have seen that feyre HAS been included in making decisions as a high lady in acowar, but in acosf that felt so sidelined and forgotten about. sjm wants to give herself a pat on the back for believing that women can be more complex than just being a mother but she has not shown that at all. she hasn’t even really shown that women are allowed to be more complex than their husband if we’re being honest here. like i do love rhys, but i’m going to be irritated as fuck if he gets to do more than feyre while feyre takes care of nyx. it just feels like a huge slap in the face to do to the fmc of your biggest series.
i definitely feel similar to you about how she essentially writes rhys with more care and importance than feyre, and that she is prioritizing her sisters. and that’s fine i already accepted that when we knew nesta was getting a book, but i do hate what making her sisters become main characters has done to feyre as a character tbh. especially with the fact that she essentially has to be a caretaker to them once again, i feel like feyre never was given the chance to really heal and be angry. she has to be mother theresa while RHYS is allowed to feel angry at her sisters (mainly nesta). and that is really annoying and doesn’t put feyre first in her own processing of her feelings about her relationship with her sisters. and feyre in acotar FELT complicated emotions about her sisters, and still continues to do so but it’s so one note and very “turn the other cheek” and it’s annoying icl.
like i’m really over this dumb rhys vs nesta shit and i think sjm thinks it’s suchhhh a funny dynamic they have. i feel like it’s so tired and played 👎👎 i don’t care to see it. it’s not funny or exciting.
and i don’t want this to come across as “sjm just wants to fuck her mmcs” because saying that about a female author can be really misogynistic, but i think the way she talks about rhys, cassian, azriel, rowan, etc. she is very male centered (excuse the horrible overused phrase) and likes to write about her mmcs. and that’s fine, but to sideline your fmcs in the process and to write misogynistic storylines involving them for the growth of your mmcs while acting like your books are really feminist is crazy work.

wait... this gives me an idea...
High Queen Feyre. But Rhys is still High Lord. He's like "nah I'm good. I don't need a promotion. But everyone bow to my wife."
✨️ High Queen and High King Consort ✨️
Sjm confirming Lucien is tied to Elains trauma, discussing how bonds can be wrong again in regards to Elain and Lucien…eluciens are cooked lmfao.
Finally
This isn’t Elriel related but something that has always bothered me by the anti IC crowd is just they they completely get everything wrong
“Feyre destroyed the spring court and were supposed to side with them?!” No the fuck she didn’t. I am sorry but she said it herself in her inner monologue, she gave tamlin the rope, it was entirely his choice to hang himself with it.
The reason the spring court fell apart was because tamlins people lost faith in him, do you know why? Because when one of his guards who regularly put his life on the line for his high lord was accused of a crime by Ianthe, and all the evidence pointing towards Ianthe being guilty, tamlin still chose to whip him.
Feyre instigated the incident, but tamlin did not have to do what he did. He let his ego and pride get the best of him even when it meant betraying his people.
HE was the one to open let hybern in. HE chose to make bad decisions after bad decisions. HE chose to whip his proven innocent guard. Yet it’s Feyre who destroyed the spring court?
This crowd tries to claim to be intellectually superior and have amazing reading comprehension because they read ‘actual fantasy’ yet they can’t handle a simple plot line in a simple series that is literally spelled out for you.
This has bothered me for years
Its this crowd of readers that want to ultimately be “different” and are looking for depth and complexity in this lighthearted series which is why they take everything so seriously and nitpick every small detail. Its the same readers who hate the main characters of the series and root for the side characters, villanising the mcs in the process all because…they just hate them and want some explosive twist where Feysand become evil dictators but not to worry, Nesta/Tamlin/Eris will save the day!
I honestly don’t remember acowar but yeah, the final decision was on Tamlin. No one else. HE was their HL yet he let himself be manipulated and blinded. You can’t solely blame Feyre for Tamlins actions when he had multiple chances to become mature and do what’s right.
Certain aspects of this fandom will always be read to point accusations at the female characters and giving the male characters a pass and its so sad because this is a female empowerment story. Not a male centred one.

This is so sweet. Love it!
the way i've seen 0 feyre stans be possessive over azriel having a love interest what are people even on about??
Right? I'm sure that after so many years without any news for Elain and Azriel fans (or Gwyn and Azriel fans, whatever. I don't care), the fandom is finally losing it. I hope there's news soon, because this is getting out of hand. I miss the pre-ACOSF fandom.
The batboys were never "hers" they are people she is friends with . Really the only one she has a true claim on solely to herself is Rhys , that is her mate and husband
Hi! Please read my replies in that post. I'm not talking about belonging in the literal sense. We were following Feyre's journey; she found her family—one that appreciates her, helps her, and protects her. Feyre's sisters hadn't yet mended their relationship with her beyond some superficial conversation. And before we knew it, they were back in Feyre's circle. And suddenly, this family Feyre found isn't just Feyre's anymore. It's her sisters' family now too. That's what I meant. And not just the boys, Amren too. Any member of Rhysand's inner circle.
