You already know that it's destined to end So why keep trying

You'll lose touch with friends That’s okay They hated you anyway

You'll forget what hobbies you enjoyed That’s okay They were all stupid anyway

Your joy for sharing ideas slips away like falling sand That’s okay No one was listening anyway

Maybe some day the light will break through the water Shine through the veil

Until then You’ll have to keep waiting

Childhood - a poem

Watching the childhood i knew so well fall away Like leaves in the summer trees Like how the bitter taste of a lemon Gets drowned out by a sip of water

Coming around to the idea it will never be the same Holidays loose the spark The light that shone in your eyes Fades away

Sleep is welcomed rather than dreaded Lets you forget everything For three blissful hours Then it all comes crashing back

No more bubble baths Soap swirls down the drain Conditioner, bodywash, shampoo, face soap, so many things Relish in the thought of not caring like before

Fantasies become problems And your faced with yourself How you want to be seen And how you can stay safe

Never taken serious enough Tears stream down your cheeks Too afraid to ask for help But you’re not a “weakling” for showing emotion

You’ve never been a weakling. You have always been yourself Maybe not what you always believe But you are always yourself

Autumn - a poem

On nights like these

Where the crisp autumn leaves coat the ground Red pointed maple leaves Dark spiked oak Small golden birch Droopy willow leaves All fluttering down From the branches above

Sitting out on a porch A bench more so Worn with time and wear Bearing stained cushions Not bothered to be cleaned out With a friend Of any sort

Underneath a warm woolen blanket Covered in spots and patches Flashlights in hand Lighting up the yard With help from the lightning bugs Seemingly highlighting each leaf at a time Giving each their time in the spotlight

The flutter of leaves falling The crinkle when they hit the grass The slow rocking of the bench Combined with the brisk breeze And the ever setting sun Dazzling colors of royal purple Followed by blues and greys peeking from the horizon

The ever changing colors Of the half moonlit sky Pushes us off of the bench And urges us into the yard Dried leaves line each step Of our patterned socks and slippers Creating a satisfying sound with each step taken

Speeding up Running around Being free Forgetting worries The cold air against your skin Fresh autumn smell brings us Happiness

Summer - a poem

On nights like these

I wish I was outside Sun trailing down the sky Warm air and orange streaked clouds Wearing shorts and a t shirt Slightly too big And my well-worn shoes, Laces untied

Walking down a sidewalk By an open field It leads to a small neighborhood With looming trees Which provide a sense of comfort Despite their large size They have the gentle breath of life

All laced with twinkling fairy lights Hanging from each branch. A small breeze follows Not a cold one, But a warm one, though not physically Metaphorically Fueled by the moment.

Passing by houses And clean yards, Messy fences, Trimmed shrubbery, Some places new, Some remind of lost memories Memories lost to time.

Time spent talking with good friends People im close with, But not extremely close Talking about school, Our pasts, And futures, And fears,

And things we hold true And lies we tell daily To ourselves, And to others, Whether known or not They fall through like sand It doesn’t matter in the end

We stop in the field, A large grassy space With chirping fireflies And graying dandelions We could fall down And just lay. And just be happy
