Lmao seeing this post and remembering the possibility of MC's favorite trait of Aerin's being his sarcastic sense of humor only for her to scold him over it every five seconds in b2... I guess we know which was the wrong choice here

On a less amused note, I'm now imagining this path (which I didn't take bc I ultimately always choose "heart") in which, in his moment of vulnerability Aerin asks MC why she likes him when he can't possibly understand it and she tells him she likes his humor, a trait of his no one has ever done anything but criticize, but somehow it's enough that it justifies, in MC's eyes, their being together and her wanting him after everything that happened between them... and then a couple of months later she's seemingly fed up with it and his jokes don't land with her anymore (out of pocket as they objectively are) and she's no longer very fond of her supposed favorite trait of his, and not only has he still not gotten entirely used to being loved by her, but now on top of that he also wonders if it's only a matter of time before the novelty wears off and she can longer find anything about him that endears him to her enough to justify staying with him 🤔

Oof, that's a great point! There are lots of ways that, unfortunately, Aerin's insecurity seems pretty rational. Even the nicest version of MC sees his jokes as purely antagonistic at this point.

We know Aerin jokes more when he's stressed. And when everyone else is also stressed, the jokes don't land. So Aerin feels more vulnerable, so he makes more morbid, impulsive jokes. Which continue to not go over well. So that's a fun vicious cycle.

here's some of my headcanons for the Tallman AU. I am SO picky modern aus because I feel like they almost never take canon dynamics into account enough, so I tried to do that as much as I could!!!

The main reason it's a tallman au is because I needed Izutsumi and Chil's daughters to go to the same school and I wasn't invested in the worldbuilding enough to figure out the logistics of how school would work with races that age at very different rates. also the existing tallman designs are fun lol
