Just a simple case of an aroace person (22yo, she/her) being in love (not fr) with an actor and being a mother to one of the queer (probably gay) characters he plays. Idek how it's possible or how it happened but I just go with it so you should too. 🤷♀️
I go by the name Jay, I’m 21yo, pronouns are she/her, and I’m a huge fan of Stranger Things, along with kpop and BL series!
Other fun facts: I've hand-raised kittens before, I'm a huge hyperfixator, I'm kinda a singer (choir), I’m from the (mid)south so I say “y’all” way too much (as seen in my posts), my favorite music genres are alt-rock/pop and kpop, and I'm studying to be a math teacher! :)
I made this blog because I was sick and tired of Mike Wheeler hate and I wanted people to talk to about him and Stranger Things and Finn Wolfhard. I will reblog/post about other things, including Finn's other shows or kpop or BLs, every now and then, tho!
I have lists of some of my favorite things here if you want a more specific list! I actually have a sideblog @themiraculouschatnoirblog for Miraculous!
Also, my asks are open, so pls ask away about any of these things (or whatever you want, I’m not picky)!
I have specific tags for each of these things mentioned: #Jay's talking ST <3 for ST related posts / #Jay's talking kpop :D for kpop related posts / #Jay's talking BL ;) for BL related posts! Then the tag #Jay's saying stuff :) is the one I use on all my original posts so I can search them up easier!
Mostly I just gush about Mike and how he's my child and done nothing wrong ever (/hj) but sometimes I get a little more in-depth so I figured I'd list those posts:
My amateur Mike Wheeler character analyses (only s1e1 done rn)
My Mike Wheeler playlist
"If Byler isn't endgame, Mike is awful" defense
ST Season 2
Why Henclair’s teasing of Mike about El in s1 makes me uncomfy
Mike in s2 (not an analysis, just a comment made while rewatching)
Mike’s trauma in s2 (analysis)
Mike in s4: 1 2 3 (also not analyses, just comments made while rewatching)
Mike & Will's trauma responses being opposite
Why I'm a multishipper (who prefers Byler) (old post - i only ship byler now lol)
"byler was never in the cards" the marketing team from s4, music producers, actors, set designers, costume designers, some of the other writers, whoever came up with the painting plot, and voice actors with 100 byler cards shoved up their cooch:
"But then I realized that it was never about him it was about me"
I hate so much this sentence, it makes zero sense.
First of all, I hate how they never explained how Will "realized" it when in the last episode he was asking Robin for advice to confess to Mike, and if it is because Venca showed him some visions it's even worse because that means that Vecnas plan succeeded to scare Will and Will accepted that manipulation and rejected himself, and they clearly did all that so Will and Mike didn't have a confrontation about Will's feelings or the painting, it's so fucking homophobic they were so scared of Byler it's obvious.
Second, it's practically a lie, Will's storyline was always hand in hand with his love for Mike, they never focused on just his struggles with his sexuality, they showed how Will suffered because he was in love with Mike since season 3, so yeah it was about him lol.
And third of all I hate how they make it as if it was a bad thing that it was about Mike, lol he was in love with him, and the problem? Why it must be about himself? It's like as if they are blaming Will for liking Mike.
Also, you can hate yourself but also fall in love with someone, it's not exclusive lol and that's person can help you to love yourself in your professor healing by being a good support (example, Katniss and Peeta from the Hunger Games). It's like they are portraying that Will can't love himself until he let go of Mike, I understand that they are making the concept of "I need to let go because this person clearly won't love me because he is straight" but in this context and this scene was so badly written especially because Will's storyline was so rushed and it's such a shame because he deserved so much better than that shitty coming out scene that was just done to basically say "Byler is death" it's ridiculous.
They went from show to tell so fast. This isn't the only storyline to get that treatment, but it's made worse by the fact that they minimized it to the point that Will is suddenly "lol, oh well, guess I didn't really love him."
It's bad enough that they killed Byler without any real closure, but it's basically a hate crime that they had Robin be the one to do it.
It would’ve cost them zero dollars to have El and Kali realize they don’t have to k!ll themselves to end the cycle of abuse and have them go off and explore the world together, while Mike realized that El wasn’t good for him and decided to stay get together with Will. Btw. The perfect ending was right in their grasp and yet.
i’m actually so pissed off what do the duffers mean by saying will didn’t “earn” coming out in s4?
you made his abuser torment him with visions we the audience never got to see but were so bad he forcibly had to come out to half the town????
you do not ever need to earn coming out. that’s genuinely so fucking weird of them
and idgaf if “byler was never in the cards” then you should’ve done what the Wednesday writers did and shut it down rather than queerbait your entire audience, half your cast & the majority of your voice actors.
This is important to reblog for yourself too, not just for others to see it. You never know when something could come up and if you need help it’s right there on your blog
the fact that will and mike dont have their own st novels tells me all i need to know. ur telling me money hungry netflix wouldn't get books written for two of the MAIN CHARACTERS?? but have one for EVERYONE ELSE??!!
