{ â } Alecâs gaze was still attached on the couple not too far. by now he was blocking out the voices of his comrades his opinion never much mattered in these cases and was commonly ignored â so why waste his time jumping in? jaw set back and the line sharp as glass he gave a quirk of his brow shaking his head in disapproval. it was as if he was able to see something most couldnât and he was that was kinda the point of his job in the first place. body language, words, expressions, and eyes â he read them all soaked them in and picked out what he needed from them.
slowly the shadowhunter leaned in resting his hand delicately on the other males back to keep him calm a sign of I wonât hurt you because oddly enough any gesture they made could set anyone off thinking they were about to attack. leaning in his voice dropped to a husk whisper bright blue eyes still resting on the mundanes. âthe bride is screwing one of her bridesmaids â and the groom is screwing the other two.â a grin then took over painting his lips and allowing some teeth to show as he chuckled straightening his posture. âso yes, I do believe they wonât last. mundanes - too easy to read, too selfish, too disgusting.â
silence. heâs ⊠impressed, yes. actually, a bit more than impressed -- even for someone who rarely utters more than a few syllables regardless of awe, lunae is speechless. however, this has more to do with the shadowhunterâs comment at the end of his blunt deduction than anything else. cue a slight shake of his head, sending loosely curled locks off into a torpid flurry as he gathers his words. piece by piece they come together, a PROCESS, as speaking isnât exactly his forte and it takes time to say the right thing (especially since the changeling is still learning what exactly the right thing might BE in situations like this). eventually, he opens his mouth, pale, soft lips parting with a thin slit.
â âŠÂ i ... donât know a whole lot about shadowhunters. youâre ... hard to observe, to learn from, because you do not like to interact with those on the outside. but i know the basics. so tell me, please -- if you lived alongside a war, yet somehow remained oblivious to said war, would you, too, seem selfish and ignorant of your privilege to those who fight ... ? or, maybe, youâre just ... angry toward someone in particular. iâve noticed that ... the shadow world has a horrible tendency ... to generalize. â
he isnât angry, and it shows in his genuinely polite and patient tone -- though, while still devoid of emotion to some extent whilst listened to by normal ears, there is a slight hint of AUTHORITY. lunae has a hard time feeling anger due to the fact that heâs honed his ability to repress said emotion (all for the best, lest his cataplexy settle in) but that doesnât mean he canât be PROTECTIVE, even lightly so. no, not self defensive, for he doesnât fit into the categorical definition of MUNDANE, nor paternal toward an entire species (because thatâs just silly). simply ... speaking up for someone who isnât there to do so themselves. he takes in a breath, feeling the otherâs hand press further into his back as his lungs inflate. this is the first time, in a long time, that heâs been focused.Â
