When Cas gets revived Dean doesn’t know how to handle his confession so he does the normal  avoidant thing and, ignored it. Cas is fine with it, mostly. Dean tries to make a joke about it once, something about sucking dick, and Cas just stops everything he’s doing to turn to Dean like “Was that.. was that supposed to be a joke? Was that supposed to be funny?” And he looks genuinely so confused and hurt that Dean has to quickly backtrack with his tail tucked between his legs, licking his wounds because the look Cas gave him made him feel sick inside.
