Reposting my old Dinbo art and Obitine because it’s been a year since this ship became more of a reality
“Satine, this is Din.”
“I’ve heard so much about you.”

Chapter 15: Only You
“He just admitted out loud that, yes, he wanted to kill Dedra Meero. That fatal day at the Palmo Plaza, if she wouldn't stop lying to him. The same Dedra Meero, he confessed his love for Force knows how many times. The same Dedra Meero that he kidnapped, and gambled her life with the rebellion. The one and only Dedra Meero that he can’t live without.”
Think this is what exactly happened
When I travel, it's usually to the country's capital but then sometimes I meet citizens of this country in different circumstances and they say they've never been there. I'm not judging because some capitals are far away and expensive but I'm wondering...
Have you ever been to the capital city of your country?
I lived/live there
Yes, more than once
Yes, once
No, but I want to
No, and I don't want to
It's more complicated than that
For research purposes I want to see what others think of Dedra's name situation.
I know technically there is no situation but for reasons I'm wondering what would be the most fitting thing here considering that Dedra was submitted to a kinder-block at the age of 3, and her parents were arrested.
Technically if she was older there would be no reason to change the name she was actually given, because she would remember it anyway. But being 3 years old means she won't have a clue if her name was changed or not.
If her parents had time limited sentences, it would put her at risk of them kidnapping her back by tracing her name. If they were sentenced to life in prison/25+ years it didn't matter.
Or simply no one cares in the system, especially that she was admitted there during the time of the Jedi Order and the Republic, so it's not like the right way she was destined to become the empire's little soldier.
So I'm just wondering if you headcanon that Dedra had her name altered once she was admitted in the kinder-block or not.
Is "Dedra Meero" her real name or the one given by the kinder-block administration?
Dedra Meero IS her real name given by her parents, kinder-block never changed it
Dedra Meero IS NOT her given name, but a name given at the kinder-block
They kept her first name "Dedra" and gave her false last name
Other (put in comments)
I think Dedra's her original first name, I could go either way on her last name, but I think her age upon entry to the Kinderblock is a guess. I think they just went "eh, she's about 3" and called it good enough
my pet headcanon: dedra was named by her parents but when they were arrested the corpos didn't bother to ask them for it. she got taken to the block at night time - they could have run a record check in the morning, but that would mean waiting eight hours for the records office to open up again and they couldn't be bothered to make a note to do that in the morning when they could just generate a new name for her, clock off for the night and forget about it. dedra herself was too small and terrified to tell them her own name.
some fanfic made it a plot point that "Meero" was the surname given to all the kids at whatever kinderblock Dedra was raised in and I loved that idea and it's always sorta been in the back of my head.
It's interesting to see everyone's perspective. My personal HC is that it is her real name, but Dedra's parents were ✨famous✨ criminals and even when she grew up no one thought she's ✨that✨ Meero, because how the fuck a child of legendary criminals ended up in ISB.
Chiss!Dedra and Thrawn arguing who's the stupidest person in the Empire? 👀
Omg, thanks for the ask!!! I've been rotating this in my brain forever and I promised myself I would draw something good for it before I answered this/went back to university. Alas, I forgot (silly goose that I am), I am back at uni, and I can only slap down this thing.
Behold: Drame'eros and her 6000+ files on who is who of the upper echelons of the Empire vs Thrawn and his crumpled sticky note with a list of 5 homies he contacts semi-regularly.

some Superman (2025) letterboxd reviews I wanted to share.
Struggling, yet again, with the good ol' one-two punch of "you're way behind in life as compared to your friends, who are all either making more money than you, dating, or married" and "you're not living up to your potential, and at this point, you never will"
