Meet before A New Hope AU you say?
One of my favorite things about the original Star Wars trilogy is why Han joined the Rebellion. Look, Han and Leia is my favorite Star Wars couple, but Leia isn’t the reason Han joined the Rebellion. He joined because of Luke. Luke, who never stopped giving him shit. Luke, who was scared and lonely, but never stopped being good. Luke, who dove into every battle bravely, endearing him forever to Han.
Luke, who forced Han to look at himself on Yavin and realize maybe there was something greater to fight for than himself now. And he came back for Luke, to save the man who saved him.
And he never stopped saving him. He ran into the wintery grounds of Hoth, knowing he couldn’t get back to the Rebel base until morning, because he wouldn’t leave Luke behind.
It wasn’t Leia who brought Han to the Rebellion and to the fight for something bigger than himself. It was Luke, the kid who was scared, brave, and kind, and who forced Han to be better because Han found himself caring about that kid.
I LIVE for this 70s/80s au of the twins, I feel the world needs more of them 🗣️

At least according to the old continuity, the Wookiees were skilled explorers, and their Clatuuvac Guild had the secrets to a number of hyperspace routes, especially through the Core (it's why the Separatists were so keen to take the planet in Revenge of the Sith)... And Chewbacca was one of the people who knew these hyperspace routes.
So the Millennium Falcon being the fastest smuggler ship in the galaxy? About half of that is down to Han's modifications, the fact that he drives like crazy, and the fact that he's almost as good as he thinks he is. The other half? Is just Chewie knowing a bunch of shortcuts, which he got from all the classified information he knew when he was a commander.
Look, if the respected commander wants to bring his rescue human along, so be it. Even if said rescue is poorly socialized.
The more times I watch the Mandalorian, the more upset I get that we didn’t get Mand’alor Din Djarin. Every episode with ANY HINT of Mandalorian politics/history/drama shows cases all the reasons that he makes a better Mand’alor than Kryze. And what do we get in the end? Him handing her the throne
Anytime a new extreme sport that includes flips, height, speed, and danger is invented somewhere across the galaxy Luke Skywalker perks up with a tingle and an excitement for something new.
Somewhere else at the very same time, Din Djarin starts screaming “LUKE NO!!”
Din has a durasteel child leash that he whips out for such occasions, but in reality it usually just means he gets dragged behind his sunshine husband. He lives in hope that one day it will work.
It is so nice of Boba to introduce Luke to Mandalorian culture vis a vis the keldabe kiss.
No but it's kind of great that Boba and Luke are genuinely trying to kill each other and everyone else is like man can you do this where you're NOT in the way of everyone else just trying to get through a Taungsday.
And when the deus ex machina descends to let them know they can't kill each other because this is set before Return of the Jedi and they both have dates with unavoidable plot shit, they stop pettily scrapping with each other and have to stalk away like offended cats. Star Wars has done a lot of stupid things with both Luke and Boba in the Disney era but I love that they both just seem to go from zero to sixty in the ability to annoy each other. There's real passion there. They should date.

Din: I understand how she can lift me. I’m 60 pounds soaking wet and the only armor I’m wearing is my helmet.
Din: But how is she lifting you?
Paz: I don’t know and I’m terrified.

Do you ever think about what Owen and Beru told Luke about Shmi?
Do you think they recognized her in Luke's smile? Do you think it ever encouraged Owen, just a little, to see the gentleness of Shmi in Luke instead of the brashness of his father?
Maybe Owen taught Luke how to fix the engine of his speeder and told him, "Your grandma taught me how do that."
She was probably the warning, the terrible cautionary tale to keep Luke from wandering, to keep him away from the tusken raiders’ territories. But I wonder if Owen ever told a joke that Shmi used to always say, or if Beru made Shmi's favorite meal for Bantoo Eve.
I wonder if there were remnants of her at the farm, her tools, a wall she painted, a holo, a piece of jewelry. Maybe there was a poncho on a hook or an apron that they never packed away after she died.
Maybe Luke uses her aeromagnifier. He found it in a junk drawer one day and still has it in his toolkit, not knowing it had been a gift to his enslaved grandmother.
And maybe one night on Ossus, when Grogu was especially lost in his grief of missing Din, Luke had whispered the same story that Shmi used to encourage an adolescent Owen with:
"There's this story my Uncle used to tell me. The myth of the sun-dragon. It lived inside the core of a star, a fierce guardian of everything it loved. It could survive even the hardest circumstances because it had the biggest heart in the galaxy."

the synopsis: After the events of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa train together in the ways of the Jedi. The siblings must confront the legacies of their birth parents Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, and their own diverging futures in the Force.
The second Death Star is in ruins. As the burgeoning New Republic pursues scattered Imperial forces across the galaxy, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa train on the remote planet of Ajan Kloss and walk the path of the Jedi side-by-side.
During this reprieve from battle, the twins grow their connection to the Force and their own bond as they shoulder the responsibility of carrying on the Jedi Order’s legacy. my thoughts: oh my god!! i’m so hyped! a novel centered around Luke and Leia, their relationship to each other, to their parents, their connections to the force, the jedi and the history of it all. Jedi!Leia, were sort of getting Master!Luke and Padawan!Leia which i want so much! and it’s a covert mission! i love that shit! sneaking around! gathering intel!. they’re going to be in the remains of the jedi temple! they’re going to learn about Padme! her work as senator! her victory as the queen of naboo! they’re going to learn about Anakin as a jedi!

a lot of luke's love interests have one trait in common, so while he probably vaguely knew when he was very young, he DEFINITELY realised when:

I think the Jedi council should have at least considered sending obi-wan over to Dooku to be like “yes hello I am here for sith training” just to see what would happen
Like, we know from the rako hardeen arc that he’s a good enough actor to pull this off. Combined with Dooku’s clear affection(?) for him, I think the council would have most of the separatists’ top military secrets in a month, max
I mean, even if Obi-Wan got caught transmitting information

Let's just add another layer to this cuz I bet that LIKE the Raako Hardeen incident no one tells Anakin anything.
So we also have an unhinged (but in the OTHER direction) Anakin chasing Obi-Wan across the galaxy going: 'Come back to the light side, Master, you're my brother!'
So now Palpatine's dealing with the unexpected headache of his planned future apprentice being too busy trying to de-sithify the not-actually-a-sith!Obi-Wan to get sithified himself.
Anakin suddenly throwing himself hard into being the perfect Jedi to guide his master back to the light is hilarious
I am in love with that idea. with all of that. please someone make this canon.
