Currently obsessed with the thought of Damian singing for his mother while she dances a traditional Arab folklore dance called the Samri.

I am specifically referring to a song called “Nawm Al Malla”, roughly: “the collective slumber”. The song is a slow, melancholic ballad about being unable to sleep, plagued with yearning for a dreamless sleep, but being haunted with the memories of a once lover.

I think it’s very fitting for Talia, and I love the idea of Damian having a beautiful voice.

Damian is 3, looking at Ra’s steel gaze. There’s a tragedy to his grandfather that’s his alone. He wonders if it’ll ever soften.

“Powerful.”

“Damian,” Baba’s voice is very different than Batman’s. It’s so soft it could crack the world in two. “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Damian thinks about Bruce holding someone’s hand with his broken fingers after a patrol.

He thinks about Bruce forgiving his mother. For everything, and anything.

He thinks about the meals left on Todd’s doorstep. He thinks about his siblings. He thinks about his father loving a world that doesn’t love him back.

He thinks about Bruce.

Building off of the post about gut shots.

What if it was Bruce’s POV and one of the kids was shot? Like on some space mission gone wrong and they are now stranded, and on top of everything else someone is shot to the gut with limited medical help available (utility belts contents).

I’m personally imagining Tim cause he’s my favourite and so gets the short end of a stick but like what would bruce do then? Would he try to deny the inevitable or just comfort his child to make their last moments as peaceful as possible?

Does rescue arrive at the last possible moment and pull a miracle to save a life or is Bruce forced to watch one of his children die again?

I think Bruce is the kind of person who would do everything in his power up until he could tell, with surety, that there was nothing to do. He's the cool head people look to in a crisis, because he's the one who's actually able to bring himself to make those calls.

Yeah, comforting his kids would be the top priority if all else was lost. Keep them breathing slowly, keep the pain down via meditation, and talk to them to distract them.

In many ‘Spaghetti Western’ films, a broad sub-genre of American Western films that emerged during the 1960s in the midst of Sergio Leone’s film-making success, many of the vuglar roles Native Americans were hired to act in forced them into offensive portrayals with little attention paid to authenticity, with emphasis only placed on painting them as “simple savages.” As a result, many American filmmakers paid little attention to actually translating the indigenous languages for what they were saying on screen. As a result, many actors were able to say what they really felt.

This is such a good documentary, guys. I try and convince all my students to watch it. It was made by Neil Diamond, a Cree filmmaker, and it’s an utterly fascinating look at portrayals of indigenous peoples in North American cinema.
