the (dead) garden

good morning, good evening take a look around my garden is broken, don't worry it's also overgrown with no flowers to be found

there are spikes and spiders with pointy little fangs neither bite no one comes here anymore

the gate, sewn shut with vines the children stopped laughing years ago but if you listen late at night the crypt below comes alive something obscene A little bit green A little bit mean breathes out of that old mausoleum the walls leech freely under the moonlight It lets itself be free in the quiet and pitch-dark loneliness before holding it’s breath again at daybreak and as you wake and look around my garden watches, and waits, and waits..

I want to crawl into a hidey-hole Away from the chatter and layers of noise Crawl into my own little fox’s den and only hear the whispers amongst the leaves and the chirping of robins Take away my worries of creaking bones and tired muscles Push away the feelings of being the last supporting leg of my home To crawl into a hidey-hole and shut my eyes and be cuddled, consumed by the cool soil I peek out of my little hole and watch sunsets, animals walk by, even a curious kid tilt their head and take a sneaky peek It’s okay because I’m in my hidey-hole And it’s where I want to stay

Blonde bitch Peroxide smiles Words thrown out their mouths Drilled right into my brain I have to focus so much Bleach out the world My ears bleed My eyes blur I missed the question I'm a dumb blonde again And the cycle starts again I have to focus While fuckwits can sit back and talk about washed out, faded memories And I have to keep concentrating So assholes don't win.

Bored, bored, bored. The feedback loop ramps up again.

She speaks like a sim asking me if my burning house wants a nice chaise lounge. She asks if I did anything on the weekend Did my homework Labelled my feelings and practiced mindfulness in a mind already full of thought and survival preparedness that I’m ready for all dooms

Choking on words and feelings again Another question Mind tired Brain throbbing The wall colour is sickening Another question Another nod The temptation to lie to leave out the pea-green door It’s never easy, no My words never flow I’ll just smile and say sure Just get me out that fucking door.

The windowsill is a tease, granting it false freedom It buzzes fervently with the grating low pitch of an appliance before falling silent Fighting the throws of poison along it’s back Little zzzt zzzt zzzt It lifts up and lazily flies around and flop again, fly around and flop again A little beast and me, sick of each other’s presence
