FINALLY watched Oppy Mice for the first time irl, and I need to be talking about this bcs it's the funniest shit EVER.

So we all know what happens during Das Übermensch, right? Hilarious song to begin Act 2 with!

There I was sitting in the first row, having the time of my life, getting to watch the UK tour, and what do you know, halfway throughout the song it's time for Jamie-Rose to decide who gets pointed at with the flashlight/torch, and well, suddenly the flashlight shines me right in the face. She's pointing at me. Oh my God. ME. Out of ALL of the people in the audience, it's ME.

Now you're probably thinking: Well Lumen, duh. Someone gets pointed at, yeah. Nothing special.

Well, yes. But also no. Because what Jamie did not know was, that I am actually German. I am from Germany. I travelled specifically to Northampton from Germany because I wanted to see the UK tour. And well- What are the chances that out of all the brits in the audience, Jamie managed to unknowingly find the ONE SINGULAR GERMAN??

It was hilarious to me and me only, no one else in that audience knew how FUCKING FUNNY this was besides me and I was CRACKING TF UPPPP

This was supposed to be posted in time for pride but unfortunately. That didn’t happen. Either way this is a big happy pride and I love you and you’re doing great to all trans and gender queer folks! I hope the premise of the art obvious but if not my intention was that Monty has burnt a portrait of a version of himself that he no longer identifies with, and has brought the spotlight over to himself as he is now. (I’m now worrying that this could be bad messaging but maybe I’m overthinking so could someone who is part of the community just confirm or deny thank you x)

This took a long time, nearly 13 hours of tracked because I couldn’t just copy from a single reference and had to make a lot of stuff up (we’re one step closer to commissions! Yippee!), but in reality a lot longer because my iPad needed frequent breaks throughout the heatwave.

Next piece will not be mincemeat (unless it gets thrown into the WIP pile) but I will be back! I have a few more ideas for pieces and it’s criminal that this is the first time I’ve drawn Alex’s face, so this is for all the Alex!Monty enjoyers and I will get back on the case of that soon.
