There was a trend long ago with a broken ceramic doll face, now a similar is making rounds on twitter so time to unearth this thing from my drafts.

So the idea behind this is about Aventurine choosing the Preservation path. I have a lot of feelings about this character, especially because of his background. Also his "villain" form being this big, this pompous, yet hiding inside a man whose hand is "shaking under the table" as he deals his last chips.

All of his risks, all of his choices, however suicidal sometimes they seem, they feel like a self-preservation method. Ave, despite seemingly undervaluing himself, has this softness towards Kakavasha, that not many people would have towards their younger selves. I love Ave for many reasons, but this drawing shows the part I love about him the most I think.

This rich, pompous, big, loud, extra, sly and risky form serving not really IPC or his greed or some power fantasy, but a disguise. A ploy that hides inside that hopeful boy who was cursed with his 'luck' blessing, who loved his sister and mother, and who is so scared, yet keeps living.
