Vallaslin: DAO and DA2 to DAI
So, I’m not sure if this has been done before, but I was talking to @lavellanlove about the continuity of the vallaslin designs from the first two Dragon Age games to Inquisition, and neither one of us could recall seeing the DAI versions directly compared to their original counterparts. And because I clearly have no self control when it comes to this series, I immediately had to run off and make this.
All images and information come from the Wiki page. All I have done is put the images side by side and make my best guess about what is connected to what. The Wiki uses a naming system for the Origins designs that I have adopted here. The designs are numbered (1-8) and each has a simple version and a complex version. Most of the DAI designs have two versions as well, but not all. The DAI versions of the design appear on the top row with the original versions on the bottom. The simple version of each design appears on the left and the complex one is on the right.

This is by no means a definitive categorization, and I’m really eager to hear if anybody has other ideas!

I’ve been waiting/looking for something like this. Because I could never pick out of the DAO designs which one could possibly be Dirthamen’s. I might be wrong, but the DAI Dirthamen vallaslin gives me an impression of ravens and/or wings and didn’t get that from any of the DAO vallaslin.
I still get the feeling sometimes they didn’t have all their lore down for a lot of things before making/completing the games.

Yeah that’s the major issue here, I think. Planning ahead was not a priority with DAO :)
