dont really wanna make a disclaimer post but just in case, i want to make some things clear. im a minor. my pronouns are she/her, and this blog is just me venting most of the time so id prefer if no one interacted, but i dont mind either!

maybe the purpose of life is to fill it with as many positive things as you can. regardless of how bad life gets, don’t let it steal your personality, your hobbies, your style. after coming home from a bad day at work maybe you need to sit down and read a nice book. after studying non-stop for so long, maybe you should finish that crochet project you’ve been putting off because you’re so busy. maybe we should prioritize the things we love, the things that make us happy, and not just the things we’re forced to do to survive. in this society, a little peace from the outside world is important. don’t give up on the things that make you happy. don’t forget about yourself.
i remember thinking that the only way to be loved was if i reinvented myself to be desirable. as it turns out, the person whose love i was seeking in the first place was myself, and the most desirable version of myself i could think of was a person who's happy, so i'm working on that instead.
i think waiting together is a love language. wait for the train with me, so we can talk a little longer. wait for dinner with me, we can slow dance in the kitchen. wait for me until i can talk after crying my eyes out, hold me, we will figure it out. wait for me when it gets rough, i know i can get through this (with you). wait for me in the car, this song is too good to not finish listening to it. wait for the first snow with me, cold red noses and bright eyes. lets wait for each other, i love you.
maybe mediocrity isn’t wrong. maybe you don’t need to be the best at everything you do. maybe you don’t need to be the best at anything you do. it’s ok to simply do things because you enjoy doing them. its ok to not want to advance in your job. nothing has to be a competition. you don’t need to be better than anyone. you can do things just because they’re fun. you don’t need to read up on the history, and know everything about it. its ok to just exist. its ok.
today is a good day to pace yourself and take little breaks
Just because you’ve done something once does not mean you are obligated to do it again. You can say no. You can set boundaries. Do not push yourself until you break.
this is not wasted time. time spent healing and growing and letting yourself feel all the things is never wasted.

the weird thing about growing apart from friends is that you can never fully be rid of them. i don't think once about the girl i promised to never lose contact with for weeks at a time but whenever i see a certain book series i'll think about how much she loved it. i haven't talked to my old friends from camp in months but i'll never not like their pictures when they come up on my feed, and i'll never not like the friends themselves either. and it stings a bit when a boy i used to talk to for hours doesn't say hi to me when i see him in the cafeteria but whenever i see a supermarket cake i'll remember the time in middle school when i brought one to school for his birthday and he ate three slices and told me it was the best cake he'd ever had. you can pull away from friends but never fully break apart. the process of growing apart has a beginning but never an end
do you ever sabotage your own free time? like wtf is that about? i want to play this game or read or do something specific but instead i will just stare out the window or scroll mindlessly???

I feel like as an ace with mild facial blindness I feel this so hard. The Amy Pond quote about Roy being the most beautiful man she has ever met smacked me like bricks because it never occurred to me that people approached appearances like that. I know a friend’s mannerisms at a distance before I could ever place their face. I can tell you which manager is in by the keys bouncing on their leg in the hall and step cadence. I squeal with delight upon hearing the door and knowing exactly which uncle just stepped in from the cold at grandma’s just by the handle turning.
So this uncanny valley social media thing has really struck me as “now everyone kinda gets it”. Between the Amy Pond “their face has their personality written all over it and they become so beautiful” and this “tik tok is weirdly sterile and form made” rant/dissection… I feel like it is becoming more and more obvious how fake everything seems and it REALLY isn’t just the filters. Unless you consider catfishing your personality to be palatable online for viewers to be a filter…

ex-depressed core is pushing urself as far away from any form of sadness or hurt in fear of falling into an episode but also feeding into the feeling believing it will always come back and that you were just made to be sad
