1.) Evie and Maximillian Sommers
These people were honestly the most disgusting excuses for human beings I've ever read about. Like who has two kids, keeps one in a tank, effectively torturing her for her entire life, and ditches the other with abusive parents in case they need her later. Ella is a person, not a spare light bulb to be used when needed. Their deaths were honestly the happiest moment of my year.
Also from the Shatter Me series, but I really want to hit this guy over the head with a brick. He had absolutely no reason to abuse Aaron the way he did, and I actually love Aaron as a character (as in please make him real so I can marry him) so I absolutely hate what Parris did to his poor innocent child. Also why won't this man die, there were like 5 times in the series where Juliette is like "I've killed him" and he pops up again a few chapters later like "Surprise I'm still here". JUST HURRY UP AND DIE!
WHY DID THIS MAN LIVE. I would have been so there for an ending where Tobias or Tris kills him and looks him right and the eyes and remind him what he did to a Tobias as a child. But no, instead he gets to go off and LIVE. And this happens a lot in this series and it really annoys me because so many of the characters I thought should have died lived, and so many that should have lived died (looking at you Tris). Though I do love the bit where Tobias attacks Marcus with his own belt in Insurgent because it feels like poetic justice that Marcus should feel a little bit of what Tobias felt. Also Tobias' mom would definitely be somewhere on this list I just don't have room for her.
First off I don't think enough people have read A Curse so Dark and Lonely and totally should because its a really amazing book, but I hate Karis Luran so much as a character, not just because she tried to kill Lia Mara but because of her emotional manipulation of her daughters. She completely destroyed Lia Mara and Nolla Verin's relationship because Nolla Verin didn't feel she could defy her mother, and Lia Mara wasn't forceful enough to stand up for herself. I also think Nolla Verin was a terrible sister because she didn't stand up to her mother in any way even when Lia Mara's life was in danger.
So there's obviously what she did directly after Katniss' father died which made Katniss feel like she was responsible for the entire family, and is the reason she has a rocky relationship with her mother. But she also completely ditches Katniss at the end of Mockingjay because it's "too painful" to go back to District 12. It seems like she completely forgot she had two daughters and abandons Katniss after Prim's death even though Katniss was also grieving and probably needed a mother too.
Ok so I feel like Stephenie Meyer wrote 2 completely different versions of her, and Bella's account of her really doesn't match up with Edward's. From Bella's perspective Renee seems a little scatter brained, but she's not unloving and really supports Bella's choices a lot more than her dad does. From Edward's she's self centred and doesn't really care about her daughter. I just don't think these two accounts add up and it really doesn't make sense. Let's be clear though, only Edward's version of Renee is on this list.
Ok this one's controversial, but hear me out. So in Eclipse Jacob tries to kiss Bella, and she ends up breaking her hand punching him afterward. But when she gets back home Charlie congratulates Jacob and acts like Bella's being all dramatic, even though she's LITERALLY BROKEN A BONE. As her father Charlie should be protecting her from creeps like Jacob who try to kiss her without her consent, not encouraging them and I think his behaviour here was disgusting. Also why does Charlie do literally nothing in the house? I understand Bella cooking, because Charlie's terrible at it and Bella's a good cook. But Charlie must know how to do other things, he lived on his own for 16 years pretty much so how come Bella does all the laundry, cooking, and cleaning. I'm not saying Bella shouldn't help around the house, but she is Charlie's daughter and he should be looking after her not the other way around.
