Ah! A cleansing sense of whiplash
I know there’s that one post about how Aunt May is bi because she calls Doc Oc by “Liv” but ultimately you’re all sleeping on the fact that Aunt May is actually the developer of the web shooting doohikey. If she’s an engineer (whether formally educated as one or not) and RIPeter was a graduate student, then we can figure out a few possibilities regarding Aunt May’s backstory in Miles’s dimension. In one scenario, she was not formally educated (or maybe only partially) and wanted to see RIPeter get the education he wants so she can live vicariously through him in that academic regard. In the other (better, truer, more fabulous) scenario, Aunt May dated Liv in college/grad school and they were gonna get married but Doc Oc proved to be unstable and ethically corrupt so May kicked her to the curb. In this essay I will
Doc Ock killed them before they got the chance to
Hi and thank you for clicking on my campaign! My Fiance Sarah and I are recent transplants to Portland from a very conservative part of the country, and are looking to move into our first relatively long term place. She has a job, and I begin mine soon, but until I start it will be impossible to...
I know I haven’t been around as much, that’s because this site is a lot, and there’s just a lot. At the same time I think it’s very important to bring as much light to my friend’s situation. Lynn is a transwoman who is newly out, and has just moved away from a very conservative area. She and her partner are trying to get into their first long term home together. They aren’t trying to raise much money, just $1,000. That would see them into the new place, pay car insurance, and help them either get a cheap bed, or bring their bed and belongings over from their family home. Unfortunately, as is the case with many queer and trans persons, their family will not be supportive of them once they come out to them. This complicates matters. The GoFundMe Lynn set up clearly outlines what they would be using the money form, I’ll include that here: * $300 – this will let us cover February rent. We’re moving into the new place February 10, but we have to pay pro-rated rent to stay those extra 10 days at our old (current) place, and we don’t quite have enough to cover both. * $450 – this will cover the above, plus our first car insurance payment on the car. My parents – the ones I expect to disown me once I come out to them – want me on my own car insurance before they sign over the title to the car. We need to get this done ASAP, but as important as a car is, we haven’t been able to line it up since we’re so worried about rent. * $600 – this will cover the above, plus HRT and my therapy for a month. We’re currently paying full price for medications (roughly $110) plus therapy ($10 a session). * $750 – This will cover basic living comforts – blankets, and maybe a cheap mattress. While our new place is furnished in the common areas, we don’t have bedroom furniture with us right now. * $1000 – We both have a bunch of stuff at both of our parents’ places – including a full bed, a bunch of clothes, and other supplies. This would allow us the money for a Uhaul + gas to go get those items. Thank you so much for considering our campaign. We don’t want your generosity to go unnoticed – so we’ll have some reward tiers.
Lynn’s partner crochets beautifully, if you donate and would like a thank you please drop them a line. Once they’re settled she’ll gladly make you a gift. $1+: a personalized thank you note sent directly to your email! $25+: a small crocheted gift (think a dishcloth, coaster, crocheted flower, etc) $50+: a medium-sized crocheted gift (think a hat, or ear-warmers, or something else of that tier) $100+: a crocheted gift of your choice! (a blanket, hat, scarf, jacket, etc)

Hi everyone! My Fiance and I have set up a gofundme to help with some moving costs. I super understand not everyone is in a position to donate and that’s more than okay! Shares and just looking through mean the world to me. <3 <3 <3
we are all rowdy theatre kids in god’s denny’s when you really think about it
it’s something experienced not explained
im in art class and one guy just said “bowsette” and another guy looked at him and said “we don’t do that here”
When Ron, frustrated with studying for NEWTs and with Hermione’s anxious sixth-year nagging, explains to her what reading is like for him, Hermione’s breath catches. “Ron, you’re dyslexic,” she says, softly, and instantly regrets every snide comment she’s ever made towards his study habits.
Soon, by asking around, Hermione amasses a list of spells for Ron to try - some stilling the page, some changing the font of books for easy reading, some going after Ron’s temporal lobe directly.
These help, a little, but not as much as knowing there’s a word for why reading is so hard for him. That it’s normal, that he’s not stupid, and that Hermione suddenly helps instead of criticizes, looks for solutions rather than complains, praises instead of gloats.
!!! Oh
#listen tho what if #muggles are terrible about disabilities#but wizards are even worse#they don’t even have the terminology that muggles do#it’s all ‘kinda loony’ or “just dim’ or (most often) ‘not a talented witch/wizard’#and ofc ~everyone knows~ that all illnesses can be cured with magic#(except for some magical illnesses that can’t be cured at all)#but as ron talks more with hermione and other muggleborns#and researches the spells hermione gets him#and realizes that most of the spell creators probably also had dyslexia but had no word for it#he realizes that what ‘everyone knows’ isn’t true at all#after abt a year of this he talks to mcgonagall abt changing his career goals#goes into healing with a concentration on research#and a secret concentration on finding out what muggles know and bringing it into the wizarding world#(his dad is so proud of him and prolly helps out a lot too)
this paragraph is better than anything jk ever wrote about grown ron
you know what? go to your local library.
nobody cares if you just want to read Twitter with the free wifi. in fact we’re ecstatic you’re there.
don’t be afraid to touch the books. hell, taking them off the shelf and leaving them on shelving carts is one of the main ways the library counts usage and foot traffic, so don’t reshelve them yourself and don’t be afraid of looking at them!
most libraries now allow covered drinks, and many have special areas where you’re allowed to bring something to eat. have your lunch there, it’s quiet!
lovely large tables for crafts or art? they have you covered!
magazines and periodicals so you can read the newest events or pick up a new recipe? check!
you can even just watch a DVD if you have the appropriate portable screen and courtesy headphones.
GO to the library. LOVE the library. USE the library. you already paid for it!!
Olivia Jaimes’ Nancy continues to amaze and delight.
But there’s an extra frame in the comic version and it’s bothering the living hell out of me
For comics that still run in newspapers, the long Sunday strips often include an extra panel near the middle that can be added or removed without unduly disrupting the joke; this gives individual newspapers more freedom to rearrange the panels to fit their publication’s page layouts.
(As an aside, refusing to follow this practice is a big part of why Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes fame was considered such a pain in the ass to work with. His Sunday strips used complex, tightly scripted panel layouts that couldn’t be rearranged even a little bit; if you wanted to run the Sunday Calvin and Hobbes in your paper, you designed your page layout around the comic, not the other way ‘round!)

If marsupials were real they’d probably be a marginalised group
hi hayley can i ask a question
Of course you can
what’s a marsupial
if you look in most places you’ll get the answer that they’re any mammals who give birth to small embryos that climb into the mother’s pouch where they grow to juvenile size; however this is probably better applied to metatheria in general as marsupialia specifically refers to the crown group - that is, the group consisting of the most recent common ancestor of the animals fitting this description and every descendant of that ancestor
haha nice can we get an example of one of these legendary lads?
Been thinking about this for several months and my answer is no
a guitar is a marsupial. see here:
y’all are sleeping on the canon fact that Jirou is a Fashion Queen
Evidence:
even more evidence:
in a manga where everyone always wears workout clothes (looking at you, Ochako), sweatpants (Bakugou), crocs and animal prints (Kirishima), diapers (Mineta) or shirts that say “shirt” in bold print, she’s very obviously the only one who knows what fashion even is
(bonus)
she unironically wears shirts that say “dead” and I think (she’s) that’s beautiful
thanks for coming to my TED talk
