This is an RP blog, but I am also an Orpheus fictive in a fictive-heavy system.
Sorry if some things seem a little ooc, I try to cram my hcs in my writing here as much as possible.

If Reeve didn’t originate the role, then we wouldn’t have gotten Jack’s Orpheus at all.
Reeve is responsible for Orpheus’ sweet, socially-awkward, eccentric personality that you guys love to see Jack portray. In the 2017 off-Broadway version of the show, Orph had a rough, rude personality. But when Reeve came on board, the role was gradually retooled to be softer and kinder. Reeve also gave Orpheus’ costume the iconic red bandana and suspenders.
I don’t care whether you like his voice or not. But Reeve isn’t just Orpheus’ originating actor on Broadway. He also made the character the way we know and love him. He walked to hell so Jack and all the other performers who’ve played the character could walk too.

there's something so endlessly poetic about eva noblezada and reeve carney's relationship.
they met & fell in love while performing the central romantic characters of a retelling of a 2000+ year old tragic myth, in which the central theme of the show is how people have been retelling this story over and over again for all of those 2000+ years, every time hoping that it will 'turn out this time', only to be devestated by the inevitably tragic ending. a retelling that begs people to hope, to believe that this time, orpheus will get to take eurydice with him.

on reeve's final show, they recreated the end of the show, allowing orpheus to take his eurydice up the stairs and out of 'hadestown', hand in hand with her - an ending that the mythological orpheus & eurydice never got to see.
and then they got engaged, on a bridge overlooking the theatre where they first performed together, while returning to their characters together for the first time in a year and a half.
they are the orpheus and eurydice who made it out. they are what the show begs us to believe in.

News of the day: guys, we got ANOTHER ad!!! This one has more glimpses of Chant 1 and When the Chips Are Down!!!
I'm listening to the Hadestown soundtrack for the first time and about two thirds of the way through I was like "wow this is really good! I hope nothing bad happens to these characters and they get a happy ending!" as if I don't know how the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice goes
orpheus is touchy feely and fidgety during the night and can sleep through any noise as he grew up in the tiny room above hermes’ bar and got used to the sound when he was young
eurydice struggles with the loudness of the bar below, so orpheus will often cover her ears for her and squeeze her when the crash of a glass, or cheer from below comes. holding her hand and rubbing circles over her thumb until, she relaxes

"Eurydice, it's alright. That's not Orpheus. Do you need something to eat? A ride home?"
"Wha! Looks jus like him! Whaddya mean thats not Orpheus?" She looks from Hades to the guy and back again.
"Orpheus doesn't even know how he got you. You think he'd cheat?"
"I meannn... looks like 'immm."
"Eury, how much have you had to drink?"
".....few.."
"Let's get you in the back of the bar, okay? You can lie down."
"No. Wheres Orpheus?" Begins to wander around.
"Hey... Orpheus doesn't really drink. He's probably at your house."
"Hes gotta be here! Orpheus?! Where are you? Orpheus!" Goes around the bar, looking.
"Eury! Eurydice, don't go back there!"
"Like you could stop me!" She goes back there anyway.
*tries to follow and gets cornered by some drunk, handsy females* "Eury! Help! Get off!"
"Orpheus! Orph- HEY GET OFF HIM!" Goes at the girls, swinging at them.
*Pulls Eurydice away, shaking hard* "We're getting in the car. I'll call Orpheus."
"Orphie?! Lemmie drive." She stumbles.
*Gets her in the passenger seat, sits in the driver's seat, and tries to calm down from the touching where nobody should have*
"Shouda fought them more......"
*struggles to calm down* "E-eury? Can you s-see if there's w-water?"
"Waterrr? Noo, I'm good....." Finds a water bottle.
*sips water and closes his eyes* "Where am I taking you, Eury?"
"I dunno..... you got hurt. You okayyyy?"
"I... Little overwhelmed. I'll be fine to drive." *his clothes are messed up and he's struggling to calm his breathing* "Can I bring you to my palace? Or do you want to go home?"
"Uuhhhhhh, ORPHIE!"
*drives to Eurydice's house, working hard to keep Eurydice from not getting sick and his anxiety to not spike*
"Uhhh, Hades? Why we going so fasssst?"
"I'm going the speed limit." *Pulls into her driveway* "Can I get you anything once inside? Water, a blanket, washcloth?"
"ORPHIEEEEEE!"
*Gets Eury comfortable on the couch* ""Orpheus? ( @lyre-player-and-singer ) Are you home?" *Helps himself to a weighted blanket*
Snuggles under blankets.
*closes his eyes and stims, clothes still messed up*
From the blanket pile. "Orphie?"
"Not home yet, Eury. I... If it'll help, you can rest on me."

"Eurydice's in your room." *is trembling with his clothing messed up*
”Are you alright?”
"I... They had hands. Everywhere. And I couldn't move..."

"New clothes? And... nevermind..."
