Do you guys saying this at all realize that actually interesting, developed, nuanced romantic relationships in fiction are actually fucking hard to find?
That maybe people focus on romance in fandom because that's the part that the canon doesn't develop? That mainstream fiction is overwhelmingly focused on close platonic friendships, and that romance, if it's included at all, is almost always of the most shallow hetero-normative variety?
Please, please stop criticizing people for putting romance in fan works.
If you want them to be friends, you have the canon.
What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.

I think it's insane that even in the most leftist and "progressive" spaces the idea of equating morality with looks is alive and present and no one fucking bats an eye at it. like racists and mysoginysts are always portrayed as fat and hairy and generally unkept, as a contrast to the morally good and attractive leftists of course; people will have no problem being genuinely fucking awful about someone's appearance if they're deemed to be a "bad person". and the worst part is you point all of this out and people act like you're reading too much into things like no dude you gotta start using your brain more
