PAST HUNGER GAMES: The First Games
The first Hunger Games arena was that of nightmares. The sun never rose, and the only light source at all times was the moon. A large forest surrounded a small portion of open field, in which the cornucopia sat. The majority of the tributes were reaped unfairly, as they were the children of rebel leaders throughout the districts. Thus, the Games began slowly, with no one wanting to kill anyone else. But it soon became apparent that if they didn’t kill each other, the gamemakers would. Enormous bear muttations were set loose upon the tributes, and only half of the tributes survived. As the Games progressed, alliances failed, arguments ran rampant, and the killing began. The final group of tributes found themselves being pushed closer and closer together as the extent of the arena began to shrink. Kira Jurael, of District 9, was crowned after the final four found themselves surrounded by bear muttations in the center of the shrinking arena. The bears killed off her two enemies, leaving Kira and her wounded ally, Gemma, to figure out how it would end. Kira feigned pity, and as she went in for a hug, she stabbed Gemma in the throat. The sun rose for the first time in weeks seconds later, and Kira became the first Victor of the Hunger Games ever.
