These are made-up fic titles, and I get to brainstorm what I’d write for each one!
I will not be editing these aside from spelling and grammar, and I haven’t looked at the titles beforehand, so all this is going to be my complete unedited first thoughts. I hope you enjoy! (Pleaseee ignore run-on sentences
My initial thought was a Flower AU, but that doesn’t seem like it’ll get very far, so I’m thinking something about someone gifti OH, oh goshhhh.
Xia Fei is smitten with Cheng Xiaoshi. He has been ever since their first interaction. So, at one point, he buys some flowers for Cheng Xiaoshi in an attempt to court him (Xia Fei’s super awkward, he’d want the help of flowers for something this important, loll). But then Vein dies, and those plans are put on hold. And then Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang leave the country the next day. Xia Fei wants to ask Cheng Xiaoshi to stay in Bridon, stay with him(!), but he never ends up asking. Cheng Xiaoshi leaves, and Xia Fei is all alone. He trudges back to where he lives (which is probably riddled with reminders of Vein, not helping his mental state), and notices the flowers he wanted to gift to Cheng Xiaoshi have already started to wilt.
It’d probably be a short oneshot, written solely from Xia Fei’s perspective, and will likely end sad, but it feels like a fun fic to write!
Hmmm, this could work for a Romeo/Juliet AU, especially with how Romeo searches for lingering poison on Juliet’s lips. Especially (x2) since that song from the stage swap in S2 is called Romeo And Juliet’s Time Fantasy Overture 👀
A JaeXiao or VeinGuang fic, where Liu Xiao/Vein secretly hates his partner, Jae Lee/Lu Guang, and wants him dead. So, he gets lip gloss or something similar with poison in it and they end up making out with Jae Lee/Lu Guang slowly dying from the poison. By the time they realize what happened, it’s too late.
I think that either of these would be short oneshots. And the latter would probably have some steamy make-out action, and potentially have smut (unfinished smut, probably, although that could open the door to Liu Xiao/Vein showing off some light necrophilia, depending on whose perspective I feel would work best: the murderer or the victim).

First thought was a meteor shower with Shiguang stargazing and leading to some sappy line. MY SECOND THOUGHT was some sort of weird anomaly where the stars literally disappear from the sky and OHHH What if Cheng Xiaoshi changes something innocuous in the past, but it snowballs inexplicably into ‘There aren’t any more stars’ and he has no idea how something so small (that I haven’t even considered yet 😅) could lead to something so massive.
I like the idea, especially if the stargazing is at the beginning of the fic and it ends with alllll the stars just gone. It would probably be a oneshot from Cheng Xiaoshi’s perspective (although I love the image of Lu Guang looking up through the skylight, watching as the stars either just vanish or wink out incrementally and allll the emotions that come with it.
I’mmmmm not particularly one for the subject of idolatry, HOWEVER, this actually reminds me of a fic idea that I’ve had for a few weeks. The story follows WrathGuang from the Unforgiven MV, who is an angel sent from heaven to destroy demons and false gods. He receives his power from his god, who is none other than Cheng Xiaoshi. Lu Guang goes to fight Vein, but Vein plays dirty and has some tricks up his sleeve. He ends up brainwashing and ‘mind break’ing Lu Guang until Lu Guang sees Vein as his god.
This oneshot may or may not be smutty, but it will definitely be hot (I’M STILL EXCITED THAT ‘HYPNOSIS KINK’ IS AN OFFICIAL TAG NOW) and hopefully will fulfill the ‘idolatry’ theme 🙂↕️

Would y’all be interested in me holding a raffle or something similar, where I put all the made-up fic titles in a random generator and end up writing whatever comes up (and gifting it to the person who came up with the winning title)? Is that a good idea? I can’t tell.
