kawajiri family does things to my head like okay shinobu married a guy she never loved and she's bored and frustrated and she's mad at her kid because she can't divorce because of him tho this isn't his fault at all until one day her husband comes home from work and it's like he's a different guy he cooks for them both he's considerate he looks at her in a way he never did before and now she feels twenty years younger like she's back in college experiencing love for the first time and she's giddy and happy and a little irresponsible and then you have kira who's taken the identity of some random ass guy and is infiltrating his family and obv he's been single his whole life and now he suddenly has a wife and a kid who he initially feels nothing for aside from murderous urges towards shinobu and wanting to cut of her hand but that's just kira being kira anyway as he continues to live with them he ends up growing to actually like shinobu and he's not sure how he feels about that. and then there's hayato who has never had a good relationship with either of his parents his father was cold and distant and altho she never said anything he can tell his mother resents him and sees him as the cage trapping her here but anyway his father comes home and it's not his father so he's suspicious and he knows his mother doesn't see anything wrong because she's so blinded by love and desire but he Knows something's wrong and then he finds proof that this is a murderer wearing his father's skin and he's only eleven so this fucks him up a little bit he's gonna do everything in his power to keep him and his mother safe because even if she hates him a little she's still his mother. and so kira grows to realise that hayato is very much a threat but he can't kill him because a murder of his child would arouse police suspicion and he can't be dealing with that if he wants to keep getting away with other unrelated murders and also shinobu would be pretty fucked up if her son died so he's gotta try and find a way to neutralise this threat without resorting to violence. anyway plot stuff whateverrr but like. kira dies and what the hell can hayato say to his mother. oh by the way your husband was actually a serial killer with magic catgirl bomb powers who trapped me in a timeloop until he died by getting crushed under an ambulance. so he doesn't say anything to her he'll take this to his grave and she'll never know and they're both just sitting at the dining table waiting for dad to come home. what the fuck.
