Art dump of the same like 9 yokai that I ever draw because they're currently the only things that pump dopamine into my brain. Trying to come up with small designs for a few of them to give them more personality, but I'm inconsistent so they'll either change a hundred more times or I'll just draw them as their regular design when I'm lazy. Most of these are just unserious silly doodles though

Small, super vague update on the progress of my life-sized yokai plush: I'm losing confidence in this project, I've bitten off way more than I could chew. I've finished the fabric pattern, so I'm planning on shrinking it down digitally and reprinting it to make a smaller plush instead, just to absolutely make sure that the pattern works so I don't waste material before moving onto the bigger one. I've made a foam base to work as a sturdy interior, but I don't think I'll even need it, so now I just have his chopped up foam body parts stuffed in my closet and his head in the middle of my bedroom floor because it's too big to fit inside the closet 💔
@vkinkantation I've always seen him as more of an acoustic guy, but leave him to his own devices on earth long enough and I could see him pulling some nonsense like this
I had a dream last night that I ran away from fascists and ended up at this farm that was full of this weird but very large prehistoric animal that was like a fluffy Tapir and I want to know if it actually exists. It was about the size of a Dairy Cow.

The Venoct Variants (Revised)
Just like last time, I'm only doing the ones I specifically had ideas for.
I came back to redo this one because I finally had some better ideas I wanted to share. It's mostly the Puni Puni variants who needed the overhaul the most, but this time I think I got it where I'm satisfied.
(I gotta convince oomfie to draw some of the redesigns I conceptualized at some point)
I also forgot to mention in the previous post that I gave Venoct's Puni Puni variants localized names because none of them have one already, but I'm sure you already gathered that. (Insert obligatory "fuck Level-5" here.)
It is time. Proceed to Some Bullshit™ beneath the cut.
Venoct (Orochi)
The original Yo-kai. After losing everything to the fire that claimed his village on the night of his demise, Venoct was reincarnated as a disciple of the elder dragon Lord Seiryū (Azure Dragon), and has spent the past 400 years training in preparation for Rubeus J's return. Recently, however, he's been saddled with the responsibility of raising the infant son of their late lord, Lucas. Between serving as guardian of Springdale, performing his duties as godfather, and managing his own mental and emotional baggage left unaddressed since his death, his priorities have had to drastically shift. Don't read this as a sign of weakness; he will be back on his quest in due time.
Shadow Venoct (Kage Orochi)
Venoct's shadow. Born from the darkness and raised in the bowels of the Infinte Inferno, his upbringing was a violent one. After escaping the halls of purgatory, he had been wandering the human world in search of purpose for ages up until his capture at the hands of a medium mistaking him for one of the Wicked Yo-kai. He would spend the next 40 years locked away in the Crank-a-kai, almost regretting turning away from the power bestowed upon him by his abyssal birthplace, when suddenly he was freed by none other than Katie Forester. He now serves as her Yo-kai assistant, as Whisper is to Nate, and will do everything in his power to protect her.
Illuminoct (Hikari Orochi)
Divinity incarnate, only when light and aura combined were the circumstances right to bring Venoct's courage and Gleam's heroism to into being. When he first arrived at the Divine Paradise, many of its inhabitants mistook him for Venoct ascending to a higher form, when in truth he was but a fraction of the Azure Serpent's power given life by virtue of another's greater blessing. He serves as speaker for the Mistress of Fate and guards over her domain, but every now and again he'll descend from the heavens to defend the weak on the mortal plane. He still has yet to meet either of the Yo-kai responsible for his creation, but he greatly looks forward to the day he can.
Venoctobot (Meka Orochi)
Venoct's mechanical doppelgänger from the future. Upon first introduction, Venoctobot Model-061 was sent hundreds of years into the past to gather data on his predecessor to further the development of himself and all future models. Much like the other Robo-kai, he was part of the Yopple Inc. robotics program dedicated to preserving the likeness of Yo-kai long past in mechanical form, but all it has done is raise questions about the ethics of the program. After learning of the true nature of his invention (something I'll have to address in a future post), Model-061 and fled to the present day with many of his companions in tow, and has been hiding in Downtown Central Station to avoid being dragged back to his time.

Sakura Venoct (Sakura Orochi)
Though rumored to be Venoct at the pinnacle of his power, Sakura has only been found by Kin and Gin during their scouring of the multiverse. In his timeline, Venoct's aura is more closely linked to the weather due to his dragon blood being much more concentrated. During the spring, and more specifically cherry blossom season, Venoct metamorphoses into Sakura, an enhanced version of himself with dramatically amplified strength, speed, agility and stamina. Ironically, spring is when Yo-kai mischief is at its lowest, but any Yo-kai worth their mayhem knows to behave when the Serpent is in bloom. He doesn't mind, just means more time to attend festivals and gorge himself silly on dango.
Venoct EX (Goku Orochi)
In another timeline, this is the legacy of the Serpent. Dame Dedtime revealed that it was Kin and Gin responsible for unleashing the Big Boss Yo-kai upon this universe, a fact the Elites interrogating her were shocked to hear. They each swore to never tell Venoct, but it was all for nothing; if he wants answers, he will get them. Outraged at his closest friends for withholding this information from him and Enma for his complacency, Venoct sought to take matters into his own hands and put an end to Dedtime permanently. Forcefully merging Shadow with himself, he's taken out his anger on everyone he's ever cared about in pursuit of his twisted idea of justice and even after ending Dedtime's life, was still unsatisfied. Enma had long since banished him to the main universe before he could cause more damage, and he's been locked away in the Infinite Inferno since.
Moonview Venoct (Tsukimi Orochi)
Like Sakura before him, Moonview is another alternate version of Venoct from a completely different timeline. In this universe, Venoct was taken in by the dragons, but his real training was at the hands of the mythical Tsuki no Usagi. Not for combat, no, rather to channel his anger into something productive, that being joining the moon rabbit in pounding mochi to prepare for the next autumn festival. Now that his aura has been intertwined with the blessing of the harvest moon, he has much greater control of his rage and gained a new skill to make use of it. Mochi pounding is very therapeutic for him, and he even shares the mochi he makes with civilians when he's on patrol.
Dark Venoct (Kuroi Orochi)
The Kuroiverse is no stranger to its inhabitants being a far cry from their former glory, and Venoct is no exception. Resurrected as a servant of the dragons, he was forced to serve under Enma if he wanted a chance at finally knowing peace. When that peace never came, he turned to drinking to take the edge off his grief and only ended up making his life significantly worse. Valuing his temporary relief over seeking long-term help, his downward spiral was both entirely preventable and ignored. Now with several dozen counts of public intoxication and the occasional indecency charge, he's since been banished from the Yo-kai World permanently and stripped of his Elite status. He now wastes away on the streets of Springdale, heckling passerby for cash and blowing all of it on the cheapest beer he can find.
Venoct/Orochi (Shadowside)
Unlike many of the others, this is actually an alternate Venoct from the main universe. In the timeline diversion that brought us Shadowside, Venoct was among the dozens of Yo-kai who fought and died during the Ancient Oni invasion of the Yo-kai World. Upon being reborn, he inherited more serpentine features that're only more abundant in his Shadowside form. He has fleeting memories of his previous life and passes off any déjà vu he feels as just dreams. He would much rather put his focus on tending the abandoned pets in his care than pursue answers relating to his past. The underground waterway is his domain and his domain alone, and trespassers will be dealt with swiftly before they can discover his hideout.
Infernal Venoct (Jigoku Orochi)
Hailing from the timeline where Wobblewok was incapable of being sealed away, neither of the lieutenants were able to escape the wrath of their generals once the darkness enveloped them fully. Forcefed the black waste by General Tsuchigumo to render him subservient, Venoct was consumed by its ungodly energies and has been forever tainted by it. His mind is no longer his own, his ties to the dragons have been permanently severed, and all that remains is a blackened husk whose only purpose is to dish out Tsuchigumo's wrath upon the outside world. He and Kyubi will be pitted against each other as entertainment for the entire fallen army, and the vast majority of their scars are from their thousands of death blows against each other.
Demonoct (Oni Orochi)
Believe it or not, but this actually isn't Venoct. As a young, half-dragon oni, Demonoct is only a shapeshifter taking on the appearance of his childhood idol. Like many oni hybrids, he spent decades of his life being outcast by others of his kin for not being of pure blood. Instead of merely wallowing in his misery, Demonoct joined his mother on the surface world and discovered the legendary Serpent, another draconic Yo-kai like himself, by complete accident. He was half human, not that much different from Demonoct's own hybridity, but he was considered a guardian spirit? Could he do that, too? Returning to the Oni Badlands, however, his admiration of Venoct had to be kept under wraps for fear of further judgement, and claims that his likeness to Venoct is purely out of spite. Maybe one day he'll continue chasing his dream.

Introducing the official YKW Rewinded askblog provided by yours truly, @m4ndarin-orangez, dedicated to answering YOUR questions about the rewritten storyline featuring the Yo-kai you know and love.
STORY CHANGES:
The storyline is mostly focused on the plot of the main series games (YKW1-3) and the Blasters spinoff. Details from the anime have been included here, but it's a lot more nitpicky.
Nate and Katie are both active watch bearers, with Katie having all 3 of the Yo-kai she was seen using in EP067, among others. Hailey Ann is still present, just a later addition.
YKW3 will be facing a MASSIVE overhaul story-wise, with a lot of Yo-kai being purged from the medallium to make room for Fan-kai better suited for the region its main plot takes place in.
The lore behind both the Divine Paradise and Infinite Inferno has been expanded, and both are now considered separate realms from the Yo-kai World.
CHARACTER CHANGES:
The main trio are no longer one-note with maybe 2 heartfelt moments a season.
Kyubi and Manjimutt have been cleansed of... whatever the fuck the writers were doing. (No seriously, who approved this shit.)
Venoct, as well as the other Elite Yo-kai (Blizzaria, Everfore, Beetall, Beelzebold, etc.), are much more prominent and reoccurring characters, befitting Yo-kai of their status.
McKraken and Lucas are reoccurring characters contrary to their existence being all but voided in the anime.
Arachnus and Toadal Dude are a lot more prevelent after the YKW2 plotline, are canonically married (and have been for hundreds of years), and have stopped their petty squabbling as part of their promise to Nathaniel and Kenny.
Everyone is gay. Straight up. Like, that's not even me being satirical. (Note: the author operates on the "bisexual until proven otherwise" mentality, so good luck trying to prove me wrong. [/lh])
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Some Yo-kai will have their English/Japanese names used interchangeably, either due to personal biases ('Murica) or preference (God I hate what was taken from us in the localization of YKW2), but they will be tagged according to their English name first.
Lesser-known Yo-kai will be at the bottom of the priority bracket due to me just... not conceptualizing anything for them yet. I don't like to keep people waiting, but sometimes the brain just doesn't brain.
Prompts will sometimes be delayed because my co-author (oomfie @tatonslice) still needs time to finish working on the artpiece(s) needed for them. Some things are best depicted in drawn form, no?
So then, how about the rules for the askblog?

One ask per topic. (The blog isn't active enough to warrant a restriction on how many asks can be submitted, so go nuts.)
Yo-kai groups (Song Medals, Yo-kai Circles, etc.) can get group asks.
No shipping discourse. (The only ship canon to Rewinded as of its current progress is Tsuchigama [Arachnus/Toadal Dude], everyone else is single or undisclosed.)
As of right now, please refrain from asking about anything regarding YKW3 or any of its cast. (This rule will likely be deleted sometime later.)
