Okay so I've been thinking about this.
I've seen people's headcanons that the weather gets very humid when Pepa is *ahem* getting it on. But can you imagine how fun it would be as her spouse to mess with her?
Félix wakes up to Pepa's bedroom eyes at the breakfast table but chooses to play dumb and have a little fun instead.
The sun is just starting to come up on a naturally warm day, so no one notices that such high humidity this early in the day is just a little unusual.
"You have a little food right here, right in the corner of your mouth, just let me...there we go."
"Are you alright, my love? You're looking a little warm."
Pepa is sweating but can't say anything about it because the whole family is right there at the breakfast table.
Félix spends the day sneaking little touches that can still be brushed off as innocent or accidental. Pepa thinks he's just being unusually clueless about her advances, because she's never known her husband not to want to enjoy one of her amorous moods.
He wraps an arm around her waist and lets his hand wander just a bit too low before recovering like nothing happened.
He leans in to whisper something in her ear, making sure he's close enough that his lips brush against her.
"You're looking very tense." Cue a *completely oblivious* shoulder massage that almost makes Pepa lose it.
The rest of the family is complaining about how hot the day has turned out to be. They all take opportunities to hide in their rooms between chores because their own rooms are climate controlled according to their personal preferences. Everyone is starting to get headaches from the atmospheric pressure building. Isabela and Mirabel take refuge in Luisa's room because she runs hot so her room naturally stays cooler.
This gives Felix even more freedom to tease, since none of the kids are to be seen for most of the day.
Julieta is the only person who's onto what Félix is doing, and only because she knows her sister so well.
Otherwise Félix is so smooth even his wife isn't 100% sure that he's doing this on purpose. Everytime she tries to make an advance on him he deflects her perfectly.
"Félix, I might go take a nap. I'm awfully tired." "You're looking so flushed my love. You never nap in the middle of the day. Do I need to call Julieta?" "...nevermind."
Dinner is a nightmare. Everyone is sweating so badly that their appetites are practically non-existent. They are chugging water and the other drinks sit untouched because everyone is too parched for wine or coffee or anything else.
Félix, on the other hand, seems perfectly fine. In fact, he has oh so innocently laid a hand on Pepa's knee.
"My god, there must be a storm coming. This humidity is unbearable."
Félix's hand starts creeping higher, casually tracing fingers up her inner thigh.
Finally Pepa starts to realize what's going on, and suddenly there's an ominous thundercloud as she glares daggers at Félix, who just smiles at her.
Dinner is cut short because no one can handle sitting there anymore. They just want to take cold showers and hide in their rooms for the rest of the night.
Pepa practically drags Félix to their room.
A little while later the clouds burst and the Encanto experiences the hardest rain they've had in quite some time. The humidity lets up and everyone breathes a sigh of relief, except for Julieta who is just shaking her head.
