I think that after 191 the Dabi is a Todoroki theory is pretty much canon, because how are the chances of Dabi knowing Endeavors civil name without having any relation with him?
I do agree that the last chapter strengthened the theory for many different reasons, but I don’t think Dabi knowing Endeavor full name is one of them. Most heroes are very present in medias, so it might be hard for them to hide their real name. It would be even harder for Endeavor since he’s now the number one hero. At this point, pretty much everyone would know his identity.
Now, the way Dabi said his name is interesting. The way he goes from calling him “ Endeavor ” to “ Todoroki Enji ” maybe shows that he’s trying to get under his skin, or taunt him in a certain way. It’s not very common for villains to call heroes by their real name, as far as we see. So that’s something interesting.
Now what I think really strengthened the theory are those things:
1- Dabi going after EndeavorI have a feeling that the plan to attack Endeavor was mostly, if not entirely, Dabi’s idea. We haven’t seen the rest of the league during the fight, only Dabi. If the league knew they would go after the two best pro heroes, they would surely send more than one person to fight them. It has been shown that Dabi also took the decision to send the nomu earlier than planned, without telling anyone. This shows great impatience. He wants Endeavor dead so badly he can’t even wait one more day. And let’s remember that Endeavor just got the title of number one. If Dabi truly is his son, of course that would have made him angry and impatient.
2- Dabi wanted to say something to Endeavor
Dabi also said he wanted to talk with Endeavor. About what? Who knows. He probably wanted to reveal himself to Enji before killing him. Maybe he wouldn’t have sait it explicitly, but maybe in a way that only Endeavor would have understood. “ Are you proud now? Didn’t you wanted a child who could take down the number one hero? ” or something like that.
3- Dabi wants to be the one who kills Endeavor
Now this is the best part to me. At this point, Dabi made it clear that he wanted Endeavor dead. But the moment he realises that it won’t happen, he asks Enji to not die until they meet again. Dabi wants to be the one to kill Endeavor, and he doesn’t want anyone else to do that. Now this… This shows that Dabi has personal issues with Endeavor.
Also. Notice how emotive Dabi is acting here. He’s so emotive he doesn’t even care about his skin ripping apart. This is probably the most emotive we’ve seen him so far. And it’s when he asks Endeavor to not die just yet.
This is also very very important. What Dabi says is pretty much a response to what Snatch asked him before. “ Have you never stopped to think about how their families feel? ” “ I thought so hard about it I went crazy. ” Do I even need to say more?
It’s also curious how the whole Todoroki family had a lot of screen time in the last chapters, but only one son remains unknown and unseen... When one of the big themes in this arc is “ Family ”… And Dabi shows up… Yeah.
Maybe we didn’t get the theory confirmed, but we have even more reasons to believe it now.
