WILD MAN
CH.6; GODDESS FROM ANOTHER REALM
The chase was on. Chelsea ran, unsure of the next part of her plan. She underestimated just how furious the isolation had made the young men, as they clustered out the door in half a minute and were in full pursuit. She ran, death was close behind her and for some strange reason a smile broke out, followed by a crackled laughter as her footing found a fishing hole not completely frozen back over yet. Behind her the young men witnessed as the girl disappeared instantly. The white desert in front of them was still again amongst the chaos of the endless wind. For a moment guilt, and even worry came across the darkest of the bunch, but this was brief as worry for themselves took priority. Self preservation became the focus and the bunch spread out a bit and began making way back to their camp. All but one who approached the hole, overridden by concern rather than saving his own skin. As he approached the hole, horror was his entire reality, horror of what the leader of their pack did to the barmaid, horror to what just happened to this little girl. He didn’t sign up for any of this… Suddenly the ice began to crack beneath him. His body kicked into flight mode and he was gone. He could still see a glimpse of the other guys ahead of him but could feel something more, worse than the broken ice behind him. -He-heelp! H-HEEEEELP! The young man shouted, the frozen wind around him cancelling his voice before it got a foot in front of him. A loud explosion sounding like thunder came from behind him. The sky was dark grey, but there was no rain, no thunder. It was the ice behind him. A new Chelsea had risen from the lake. While underneath her body was instantly immobilized by the freezing water, her chest so tight she couldn’t breath. She couldn’t understand what was happening, why did they have to come to their home? Why did they have to be like that? Why was she dying? And most importantly, why was she smiling? -Ha… A small bubble erupted with this last word. It quickly made its escape to the surface. It could still see the hole she fell into. Driven by the sole purpose of becoming one with the oxygen above, a light could be seen coming from below, where the motionless existence of the girl in the lake became realized in her true potential. Touched by the giants and goddesses of old, a voice could be heard during that moment of brilliance; ‘Do you wish to know the truth?’ Chelsea could not say anything, with nothing more than a fidget of her lip and thinking the word ‘yes’, her pact was made. It was this moment that the ice erupted with the Goddess’ hand. Its density and power so intense the wind itself seemed to change direction and get sucked back. As did the young man, who had no choice but to witness the birth of a Queen. The ice shifted like tectonic plates grinding each other has the massive body emerged from the lake. The entire body of water seemed to shed off her shoulders as she raised to an upright stance. It was the day the sunshine finally made its way back to her little village. It was this moment when the sun came into full shine that she became visible to all as she stood over 200ft tall. The rest of the young men, the village, all except the one closest to her who fell into the ice as the Goddess emerged.
