In response to shifting trends in consumer preference, new games will be released on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital formats o
July 1, 2026 As consumer preferences and the broader entertainment industry continue to shift away from physical discs to digital, physical game disc production for all new games releasing on PlayStation consoles will be discontinued starting January 2028. Following this date, new games will be available on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital formats only. This transition has no impact on games that already released, or will be releasing, prior to January 2028 in disc format.
Movies like Rambo: First Blood, Bridget Jones' Diary and The Deer Hunter are all being unceremoniously removed
June 26, 2026 Sony is contacting PlayStation Store users who bought movies from the platform that were distributed by StudioCanal—like Terminator 2, Total Recall, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind—to say that “you will no longer be able to access your previously purchased content from Studio Canal, and it will be removed from your video library.” There’s no mention of any refunds or make-goods for the affected users. Sony simply says the films are going away “due to our content licensing agreements,” once again reaffirming the fact that you are never truly buying anything that’s digital, just temporarily renting it.
lol. lmao.

unfortunately have to remark on Kotaku's wording here, however. The companies have measures which let them revoke access even if they're on "physical media" or not "digital". The keyword is DRM-free. Demand DRM-free media.
i hate the term 'usamerican'. like, just use 'yankee' smh

I am unfamiliar with google forms. Are you able to quickly search responses for text and sort them arbitrarily? Like, for example, could you search all responses for the presence of a bird and sort all those into a list of "likely to require less cleanup" and sort the rest into a list of "likely to require more cleanup" without much effort? It does not solve any problems but it might make the post-processing workflow easier to have them pre-piled.
google forms has native interconnectivity with google sheets which means I can do spreadsheet math to find whatever thing I want while the responses are still coming in without needing to manually redownload and update a CSV file.
that said finding responses that can't be fully automatically turned into legible data is not the hard part. if a response is poorly formatted, I'll be able to spot them because my existing automation tools won't be able to handle them. I really just want to reduce how many of these I have to deal with
