‘‘ i know that no one is telling me how to feel , just worried since everyone is talking about their futures and i have absolutely no idea what i want to do with mine, ’’ she said quietly. harleen had always thought she wanted to be a nurse , someone that had a profession of helping people but the closer she got to that ending , she wanted to back away. letting out a small sigh , she turned around and began to lean back against the other woman. ‘‘ alright , a lot of the photos are not in the colour i want. we both know that i will wear pastel pink or absolutely nothing, ’’ she said with a small chuckle , pulling out her phone to scroll through the few dresses she had in mind.

“That’s perfectly normal too, love. I mean most of us have no freaking idea what we want do after high school. It’s a lot of pressure for a seventeen year old,” Maddy said with a soft smile. Granted Maddy had a pretty clear idea for her path but she knew anything could change and that was exciting too. She was just hoping cheer would help her get there. Maddy chuckled watching the blonde scroll through her phone, she was happy to see Harleen excited. “I mean you do look damn good in it. Those are looking like some good options though, gives me an idea of how to match up,” she smirked.

‘‘ i guess i am just excited prior to when i should be , i just like to think of the future. i know that i’m supposed to be stressing about schooling , but i don’t —- entirely know what i want to do, you know ? ’’ a part of her felt behind in the college applications , the blonde even thinking of taking a year off in hopes to finally figure out what to do with her life. but would that make her a failure in her parents eyes ? ‘‘ i guess it would be silly to show you the prom dresses i have in mind ? ’’ she asked quietly , body slightly moving from side to side , almost as though she was indicating for maddy to ask for her to show her the ideas.

“Hey- no one is telling you how to feel, at least not here. You can feel however you want. If your not stressed, I’m glad you aren’t,” Maddy kissed the top of her head. Maddy had signed and filed away her college apps awhile ago. She was excited to start the next chapter, but she knew she had to get through all of this now. “I would love to see the dresses you have in mind?”

after the initial argument with angel , harleen going through the withdrawals of her best friend and someone she thought she was in love with , madeleine became someone that harleen found herself being — herself again. although angel was still holding the label of her best friend , madeleine was someone that harleen found herself spending most of her time with , even if it was curled up on the couch together and watching re-runs of friends. ‘‘ is it — weird ? i mean no one is even excited about prom , or graduation. we’re all too focused on getting good grades and over-stressing our minds and bodies to the point of no return. we aren’t thinking of the good things in the future , just panicking about if we aren’t going to accepted in college. i just —- i hate that we’re all so stressed that we can’t enjoy ourselves , you know ? ’’

Maddie couldn’t help but chuckling as Harleen went on her signature rants, she appreciated how passionate the girl got over things even if she didn’t always agree. She leaned her head on the girl’s shoulder listening to her talk. “Well- I mean, I’m personally not super excited yet because it’s still really early. The year just started, kind of just need to enjoy the day to day before diving in to the end of year stuff. Trust me everyone will be excited come April or May. Even a little a sad because we’re graduating and moving away.”
