āwho cares if we donāt see the sunshine again? i want you more than any blue skyā ruined my life actually
also i'm VERY impressed with how much suzume adapted modern technology to move the story along. everyone's synchronized earthquake alerts. the maps app to show just how far suzume went (and hence how far she was willing to go to follow her heart). following daijin through people's social media posts. suzume's one resource that allowed her to safely run away being her smartphone. it was all so clever and brilliant and it's the proof everyone needs that you CAN properly integrate modern tech with fantasy and magic so if i ever hear shit about it again i WILL be fighting people thank you that is all!!
suzume was so goodā¦itās about abandoned places overwhelmed by the feeling of being abandoned, fit to bursting. itās about remembering the people who once inhabited those places, remembering what those places once meant to them, and then letting go. itās about the kindness of ordinary, everyday people. itās about wanting to fight fate for the sake of loved ones. and most of all, itās about a girl in love with a chair. in love with what it represents and the memories it holds, but also literally in love with it. whatās not to love
The Dragon Prince presumably releasing the last two seasons during the Year of the Dragon is a brilliant move.
not going to lie my first thought after completely finishing The Bear and the Nightingale was "this is a book nearly tailor-made to be adapted by Guillermo del Toro"
perfect sunday
Itās the season of pink šø
Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky, by Milamai
"Callum is the first human in recorded history to use primal magic without a conduit."
Can we just talk about this real quick?
Before Callum, all of this was thought to be impossible. Humans just couldn't do magic without the use of a primal stone or, in the case of dark magic, a sacrifice. The Earth is round, the grass is green, and humans aren't capable of thisāļø
And remember Callum has a photographic memory. Some of the spells above he learned earlier in the same episode or even on the spot.
We're so used to it at this point but it's not normal.
Not to mention not only did he successfully perform his first dark magic spell, he walked away corruption free and still more powerful.
Shit if I was Aaravos I'd want him on my side, too.
Fucking hell
I donāt know if anyone mentioned yet but I found this parallel cool! Funky rain kids
I am seeing some of the WORST takes about tdp season 4. Sweet, sweet tumblr users. This season was a lot of set up, not everything was supposed to be explained or resolved, or even "should" have been. Season 4 had to do the heavy leg work of re-establishing characters and arcs and the plot moving foreword. It just needs a little time to be able to act on everything it's now established. It did a good job building off of arc 1, and now we are fully indoctrinated into arc 2!
Thank you!! This is very well put!
