The other day I had some time to kill. The only logical thing to do: go to LUSH and inhale all the lovely scents. Usually when I go into LUSH, i'm able to go in undetected and browse for a bit and leave without buying anything...because, well, i'm cheap. This time however, a really nice girl came up to me and started showing me all the new holiday stuff and giving me suggestions for various things to buy.
I couldn't just leave without buying anything. So I ended up buying the smallest bottle of American Cream Conditioner (because I'm cheap and I like to buy the smallest bottle of shampoo/conditioner when i'm trying a new one) and headed home ten dollars poorer.
I have thick, wavy hair that I have been battling my whole life. One wrong product and my hair could go from dry to insanely greasy; greasy to full of fly-aways ect. ect. I was fighting a losing battle with my shampoo/conditioner from Garnier; sometimes it works, other times I have to wash my hair the very next day, because my hair is as greasy as bacon and I was in desperate need of new conditioner and new shampoo. So I started with the conditioner, because I had just ordered Bumble and Bumble's Sunday Shampoo and the right conditioner is better for my hair than the right shampoo.
Let's start with the smell. Seriously the best smelling conditioner i've ever had; it's like a vanilla milkshake with strawberries in it (no not a strawberry milkshake). I can definitely smell the vanilla more than the strawberries, which is great for me, because vanilla is one of my favorite scents.
For the last couple of months, i've had to use less than a dime sized amount of conditioner, because of the grease factor i've been encountering here on the east coast. However, with this conditioner, that amount was not going to cut it with my thick hair, so I used a generous quarter sized amount. And that definitely did the trick.
What's nice about American Cream, is it doesn't weight your hair down and you can't feel it, but after rinsing it out, you know it has done its job. I always brush my hair in the shower and the brush went right through my hair, battling no knots! (a first for me)
My hair continued to smell like vanilla/strawberries well into the next day and I was able to get just the right amount of volume back into my hair that it has been missing. The best part is, my hair just looks and feels so healthy, it's like i've just come back from the hair salon! My ends are already looking so much better and bottoms aren't dry and brittle. AND the hair near my scalp doesn't look the least bit greasy (phew). I'm so excited I decided to buy this and will definitely be going back for the bigger bottle.
