It’s been a couple years since I’ve posted anything here, and after going through my blog for the first time in a long time- I thought I’d check in with you all (as I miss and love you dearly!)
I’m 25 now, can you believe it?
I’m in a band called Big Slide, and we make soft rock / dream pop music that’s nostalgic and whimsical. I am the lead singer, and write most of the lyrics for our songs.
I’ve had a handful of heartbreaks, much needed for character development, but have eventually found love in my beautiful Michael.
I shaved my head a few years ago, let it grow, shaved it again, rinse and repeat. Now it’s down past my shoulder blades (so if you can only imagine the time that’s passed!)
My body has changed. When Mitski said “I’ve been big and small and big and small and big and small again” I think she might have been talking about me.
My sister is still my best friend. She’ll be 21 soon, my sweet girl, and she’s so so so beautiful.
I still work as a nanny, and I am very fulfilled in my profession. Children are such a light in this world and being a source of protection, comfort, and support for them bring me so much joy.
I have two cats, Fuji my sweet grey stripey girl, and my silly boy Beep who is white with brindle polka dots. They follow me everywhere, my little shadows. They’ve gotten me through so much, and I couldn’t imagine life without them.
I have more tattoos than I can count and I suppose I’ll only get more (although they have slowed down in the recent years.)
I’m happy, I’m healthy, and I find myself in perfect harmony with the world around me. Change is inevitable, but I grow with it to go with it. I missed you, and I hope someone out there (who has followed me over the last decade) sees this and smiles.
