Revisited Rock Candy my girl I redesigned from a childhood drawing!

I thought I’d draw a bit of her back story and how she got her cutiemark, very late. 1000 years late.

Rock Candy was born in the Crystal Empire before Sombra’s takeover. Sometimes she’d get into the grove, play a little faster, experiment with what felt right No matter how much she played she never got her cutiemark, and when Sombra took over, not getting her cutiemark was the least of her worries. When he was defeated and the Crystal Empire was sent 1000 years into the future, Rock Candy still didn’t have her cutiemark. As an adult at this point she decided her purpose must lie outside the Crystal Empire, somewhere out in the brand new Equestria. On her travels she stumbled into a rock concert, the rolling drums, electric guitars, and powerful vocals… this, this was the music she was born to play, it just took a thousand years for the world to catch up.

shitty MS Paint 3 minutes doodle, nto entirely accurate: When you have your pinky hooked on the “bottom” edge of the phone for the extra security so it doesn’t slide out of your hand that easily, you’re wreaking damage on your hand, since the pinky is extremely askew from it’s resting position. You might have noticed that when you hold your phone like that for long time it begins to hurt, like when you are gripping a pen too tightly for example.

Green lines - the fingers are going their natural way. Red line - the pinky is way off, that’s bad.

today I found out my mother doesn’t know what dandelions are and now I’m wondering what other strange secrets she’s been quietly harboring

we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation

So after extensive interrogation I have an update:

my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.

the truth is actually weirder

she’s aware dandelions look like this

she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions

she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?

she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.

Moonlight Wander, the really old alicorn character I had made a little bit ago, when she was a little filly. I had the idea to connect her story with one I wrote as a kid about a baby Alicorn stumbling in to ancient pre-equestria. I unfortunately couldn’t find it…

But I’ll use what I remember of that story to add to Moonlights, which would technically make both Ella AND Moonlight redesigns of childhood characters.
